How these calculators work, and where the numbers come from
Every fee rate, discount, tier threshold and leverage cap a calculator uses is read from our facts registry: one record per number, each with its official source (exchange documentation, fee page or public API) and the date we last checked it. When a venue changes a fee, we update that one record and every calculator and guide that uses it changes with the next build. Each calculator page lists its sources with those dates, and its “How it works” section shows the formula, so you can check any result by hand.
The formulas live in small modules that the calculators and the guides share. Before a calculator ships, its module is tested against worked examples from the exchanges’ own documentation.
Calculations run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us. The “Copy link” button only puts your inputs after the # in the address, the part of a URL that browsers do not send to servers or to analytics.
What the calculators leave out: spread, slippage, gas and withdrawal costs (unless a tool says otherwise), and anything that depends on how the market moves after you open a position. Treat every result as an estimate, not financial or tax advice.
There are no ads. The site is funded by referral codes: when you open an account on Hyperliquid (code HOLYGRAIL), Lighter, Aster or edgeX through our links, the exchange pays us a share of your fees, and some codes also cut your own fees. That never changes what a calculator shows: rates with and without a code are listed side by side.
