The 7 best DEX apps for perps (September 2026):
- Hyperliquid: best overall; official Android app, web app on iPhone, 0.045% taker
- Lighter Mobile: best native app on both stores, 0% fees
- Based: cheapest native iPhone app on Hyperliquid (+0.025%)
- Liquid: easiest start, crypto plus stocks and FX (not in the Japanese App Store)
- fomo: spot tokens and perps in one social app
- edgeX Mobile: native app, BTC up to 100x
- Aster: most markets, but Android and web only in the US and Japan
Which "DEX app" do you mean? This page is about apps where you trade perpetual futures on a decentralized exchange. DEX Screener and DEXTools are price and chart trackers, not exchanges. Uniswap Wallet, MetaMask, Phantom, Jupiter Mobile and Trust Wallet are wallets built mainly for spot swaps (a few now route perps to Hyperliquid; see other apps). Looking for exchanges rather than apps? See the best DEXs and our best perp DEX ranking by volume.
Cheapest way to trade Hyperliquid on a phone
Use the official Android app or app.hyperliquid.xyz in Safari: no builder fee, and code HOLYGRAIL takes 4% off every fill for your first $25M. Log in with email; no wallet app needed.
We earn a commission when you sign up through our links; it never raises your fees.
1. The 7 best DEX apps at a glance
| # | App | iPhone | Android | Max BTC leverage | Beyond crypto | Taker fee, all-in | Our code |

Store availability: Apple's lookup and search API (US and Japan storefronts) and Google Play, October 14, 2026. Leverage caps, fees and market counts from each venue's docs and public APIs (facts registry). "All-in" = the venue's base-tier taker fee plus the app's builder fee. Store availability changes by country; check the listing from your own account.
2. How we ranked them
We only ranked apps that let you open and close perpetual futures positions on a decentralized exchange from a phone, with funds in a wallet you control. For each one we checked the App Store (US and Japan) and Google Play listings ourselves and read the venue's fee and leverage docs. The order follows what matters most when you trade from a phone:
- Cost per trade. The taker fee you actually pay, including any builder fee a third-party app adds. On a $10,000 round trip the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive app on this page is $29.00.
- Liquidity. Deeper books mean less slippage on market orders, which is what most people use on a phone. 30-day perp volume on DefiLlama (September 27, 2026): Hyperliquid $216.95B, Aster $68.13B, Lighter $53.91B, edgeX $39.9B. Based, Liquid and fomo route to Hyperliquid, so they share its book.
- Store availability. Is there a native app from a verifiable developer in the US and Japanese App Store and on Google Play, or only a web app?
- Getting started without a wallet app. Email, Google, Apple ID or passkey login, and card deposits for people who hold no crypto yet.
- Risk controls on the ticket. Take-profit and stop-loss when you open the position, reduce-only exits, and the liquidation price shown before you confirm.
- Markets. Crypto majors and alts, plus stocks, indices, FX and commodities where the app offers them, and the leverage cap on BTC.
- Language and region. Japanese screens, and whether the venue's terms allow your country.
Aster has more 30-day volume than Lighter but ranks last because its iPhone app is missing from the US and Japanese App Store; Lighter ranks second because it is native on both stores and costs nothing on Standard (how the two venues differ beyond their apps: Lighter vs Aster). We hold a referral code for all seven apps (that is how this site earns); apps without a code, such as ApeX and dYdX, are covered in section 4 on the same criteria.
3. The ranking, app by app
1. Hyperliquid (official Android app + web app): best overall
Verdict: the deepest perp DEX, the lowest total cost on Hyperliquid and the place to enter Hyperliquid's own referral code (HOLYGRAIL), whose discount then also follows you into Hyperliquid apps. The one gap is iPhone, where you use the web app.
Android: Hyperliquid Corp publishes an official app on Google Play (package xyz.hyperliquid.app, 10,000+ downloads, last updated September 9, 2026). Same account and fee schedule as the website: 0.045% taker / 0.015% maker at the base tier. iPhone: there is no Hyperliquid-published iOS app; App Store searches in the US and Japan on October 14, 2026 returned only third-party apps. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz in Safari, tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". The web app carries the full interface: TP/SL, TWAP, scale orders, sub-accounts and vaults, and every order is a gas-free signature.
Logging in: email with a 6-digit code creates an embedded wallet, or connect a mobile wallet. You can also link your desktop wallet: connect Rabby or MetaMask on your computer, choose "Link Desktop Wallet" on the phone, click the PC+mobile icon on desktop, sign, and scan the QR code. The phone then trades under your main account without holding its key.
Pros
- Largest perp DEX: $216.95B of volume in 30 days (DefiLlama)
- 178 crypto perps (as of October 20, 2026) plus HIP-3 stocks, indices, FX and commodities
- No builder fee; 4% off with HOLYGRAIL for your first $25M
- Email login, full order types, BTC up to 40x
Cons
- No official iPhone app (web app in Safari instead)
- No Japanese interface (English, Spanish, French, Korean, Chinese)
- Terms exclude residents of the US and Ontario

2. Lighter Mobile: best native app on both stores
Verdict: the only one of the three biggest perp DEXs with its own native app in both the US/Japanese App Store and Google Play, and the cheapest: 0% maker and taker on the Standard account.
Lighter Mobile is published by Elliot Technologies, Inc. (App Store id6752246796, version 1.1.4 released September 25, 2026; Google Play com.zklighter.app, 10K+ downloads). It is free and English only. The app uses the same account and fee schedule as the web app, including the 300 ms taker delay on Standard (140 ms on Premium, which charges 0.028% taker). Recent versions added a lock-screen price widget and audio fill notifications. Login goes through an email field or one of 580+ wallets. In the browser, app.lighter.xyz switches to a mobile layout with the full ticket (Market / Limit / Advanced, TP/SL, Reduce Only) and a Japanese language option.
Pros
- 0% / 0% on Standard
- Native iOS and Android app from the exchange itself
- 213 active perps, including stocks, FX, gold and oil; BTC up to 50x
- Email login; Japanese in the web app
Cons
- Standard taker orders wait 300 ms
- App is English only
- Terms exclude US persons, although the app is in the US App Store

| APK | No official APK | Use Google Play or the browser |
Store data from Apple's lookup API and Google Play (US and Japan), re-checked October 14, 2026.
- Search results are mostly lighter simulators. “Lighter” in the stores returns virtual-lighter apps (KISSAPP's “Lighter” on iOS; “Lighter - Concert”, “Lighter Simulator Concert Mode” and a “LIGHTER” game on Google Play). Start from the lighter.xyz footer, then match the ID and the publisher. One third-party download guide lists an App Store ID that belongs to an unrelated finance app, so check IDs against lighter.xyz, not blogs (ours included). The real app connects your wallet and never asks for a seed phrase.
- No official APK. lighter.xyz links only the two stores and we found no APK in Lighter's docs; an APK from a mirror site is unverified software on a phone that holds a wallet. Without Google Play, use app.lighter.xyz in the browser.
- Trading depends on your region. The App Store text says wallet-based features work “in selected supported regions”; elsewhere the app is view-only (prices, funding, market activity). The app is not a way around Lighter's Terms, which exclude persons in the US, Canada, the UK, China, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, Sudan, Belarus, Myanmar and Syria, plus sanctioned regions.
Use Lighter in the phone browser (and add it to the Home Screen):
- Sign up through our invite link first (code
718610TD). Lighter's docs say a referral code can only be attached at sign-up, and the app has no field for one. - Open app.lighter.xyz in Safari or Chrome, or in your wallet app's built-in browser (the smoothest route when the hand-off to the wallet loops). Avoid the in-app browsers of X or Telegram, which often cannot hand off to a wallet.
- Tap Connect Wallet: email, or one of 586 wallets; for MetaMask the sheet shows Open MetaMask to approve in the wallet app. Use the same address you signed up with: the account follows the address, not the device.
- Share → Add to Home Screen (Safari) or ⋮ → Add to Home screen (Chrome) for a one-tap icon. The mobile layout has Market / Limit / Advanced orders, TP/SL and Reduce Only at 0% / 0% on Standard.
Lighter on Robinhood Chain (robinhoodchain.lighter.xyz) is a separate instance with its own balances and fees; the app and our code concern the main exchange. Chase Limit, Iceberg and Advanced TWAP run in a browser tab, so start them from a desktop rather than a phone that may pause the tab. Join with code 718610TD: first week of Premium fees rebated.
3. Based: cheapest native iPhone app on Hyperliquid
Verdict: if you want a real iPhone app on Hyperliquid's order book, Based adds the least: +0.025% per perp trade, 0.07% taker all-in.
"BasedApp | Crypto Wallet" (SHA2 Labs Pte Ltd) is on the App Store in the US and Japan (version 3.4.3, September 20, 2026) and on Google Play (com.basedapp.basedsuperapp, 10,000+). Sign up with email or Google, or connect a wallet. Orders go to Hyperliquid with Based's builder code. Order types cover market, limit, stop, scale, TWAP and trailing stops, with TP/SL and reduce-only. Extras: HIP-3 stock and commodity perps, prediction markets, a Visa debit card and a desktop app.
Pros
- Smallest add-on fee among full phone apps
- Native app on iOS (US and Japan), Android, web and desktop
- Pro order types with TP/SL; leverage up to 40x
Cons
- No referee discount from Based itself (a Hyperliquid referral code still takes 4% off Hyperliquid's part of the fee)
- No Japanese in the App Store languages
- Still dearer than Hyperliquid directly
Our Based code is HOLYGRAIL (Based's own program). Review: Based app review.
Trading on your phone? HOLYGRAIL first, then Based
Based is a native Hyperliquid app for iPhone, Android, web and desktop, with the lowest add-on fee among the full Hyperliquid phone apps we compare (+0.025% on perps). To keep Hyperliquid's 4% referral discount inside it, do both steps with one wallet.
- Join Hyperliquid with
HOLYGRAILfrom the wallet you will use on your phone. In the Rabby or MetaMask app, open its browser, go to app.hyperliquid.xyz/join/HOLYGRAIL, connect and confirm the code. That takes 4% off Hyperliquid's part of every fee for your first $25M of volume, and a code can only be added while the account has traded $10,000 or less. Step 1: join Hyperliquid with HOLYGRAIL → - Open Based with that same wallet. Our link opens app.based.one with Based code
HOLYGRAILfilled in (Based's own program, separate from Hyperliquid's). Link the wallet from step 1 instead of signing in with email or Google: those make a new wallet, which is a different Hyperliquid account without the discount. In the phone app, choose Connect Mobile to link your existing wallet (Based docs, checked October 19, 2026). Step 2: open Based →No Connect Mobile option? Based's route from a computer
From a computer: open app.based.one/accounts in a desktop browser, choose Add Hyperliquid account and connect the wallet, then scan the QR code shown on the computer with the phone app via Home → profile picture → Create new wallet → Link to Hyperliquid wallet. Despite the menu name, this links the wallet's existing Hyperliquid account instead of creating a new one; a wallet linked this way can trade, but deposits and withdrawals are done on app.hyperliquid.xyz.
Why this order: apps such as Phantom often set their own Hyperliquid referral code on accounts that have none, so enter a code on Hyperliquid before you start using an app.
What it costs. Based adds a 0.025% builder fee on top of Hyperliquid's fee on perps: 0.0682% taker with HOLYGRAIL (0.0432% Hyperliquid + 0.025% Based), 0.070% without. That is about $0.68 per $1,000 traded, against $0.43 on app.hyperliquid.xyz directly. The 4% only comes off Hyperliquid's part; HOLYGRAIL does not discount Based's builder fee. The cheapest way to trade on a phone is still the official web app (or the official Android app), which has no builder fee: Hyperliquid app guide.
Both are our referral links: Hyperliquid pays us 10% of the Hyperliquid fees of people who join with HOLYGRAIL, and Based pays us 60% of its builder fee from people who sign up with our Based code. Based documents no discount for you from its code, and it does not raise your fee.
4. Liquid: easiest start, crypto plus stocks and FX
Verdict: the most beginner-friendly app here, with Apple Pay deposits and stocks, FX and commodities next to crypto. You pay for it: +0.05% on Hyperliquid-routed perps.
"Liquid: Trade Global Markets" (Hypersports, Inc.) is on the US App Store (version 2.29.0, October 15, 2026) and Google Play (xyz.trade.rn, 10,000+); it was not in the Japanese App Store on October 14, 2026. Login uses a passkey with biometrics; deposits accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, cards and USDC from several chains. Crypto perps trade on Hyperliquid's order book; stocks, FX and commodities are builder-deployed perps with their own fee schedule plus Liquid's 0.05% (Liquid's October 15, 2026 docs name no other venue). Withdrawals cost a flat $1. Leverage: crypto 40x, FX and indices 50x; stock and commodity caps vary by market and show on the order form.
Pros
- Passkey login and card or Apple Pay deposits
- Stocks, indices, FX and commodities in one app; TP/SL on the ticket
- Our code takes 10% off Liquid's fee (0.05% → 0.045%)
Cons
- 0.095% taker all-in without a code
- Not in the Japanese App Store
- $1 per withdrawal
Code JV2EN2CX. Review: Liquid review.
5. fomo: spot tokens and perps in one social app
Verdict: best if you mainly buy spot tokens and want perps in the same app; not the tool for active perp trading.
"fomo - never miss out" (FOMO Labs Inc.) is on the App Store in the US and Japan with Japanese among its languages, and on Google Play (family.fomo.app, 500K+ downloads). You sign up with an Apple ID or Google account; Face ID protects withdrawals and key export. Hyperliquid perps cost +0.05% per trade on top of Hyperliquid's fee, with market orders only, optional TP/SL on each position and a 15 USDC minimum position. Perps cover crypto, stocks, indices and gold, and are not available to US persons.
Pros
- Apple ID or Google login; Japanese in the iOS app
- Social feed, leaderboards and trader alerts
- Code takes 10% off fomo's fee
Cons
- 0.095% taker all-in
- Market orders only on perps
- Perps closed to US persons
Code DailyWiseKite. Review: fomo review.
6. edgeX Mobile: native app with higher leverage
Verdict: a native iOS and Android app from the exchange, with BTC up to 100x and stocks, FX and gold. The maker fee is high next to Hyperliquid.
"edgeX Mobile" (EDGEX DAO PTE. LTD.) is on the App Store in the US and Japan (version 2.26.1, September 16, 2026; English only), and "edgeX" is on Google Play (com.edgex.plus, 10,000+ downloads, updated September 12, 2026, linked from edgex.exchange). Login is by wallet or email. Fees match the web app: 0.045% taker / 0.04% maker on the Regular tier. edgeX lists 177 tradable perps, including US stocks, FX and gold.
Pros
- Native app on both stores, US and Japan
- BTC and ETH up to 100x
- Stock, FX and gold perps
Cons
- Maker 0.04% vs Hyperliquid's 0.015%
- English only
- Referee benefit: None published

Code HOLYGRAIL. Venue review: edgeX.
7. Aster: most markets, but no iPhone app in the US or Japan
Verdict: the widest market list and the highest leverage caps, with a solid Android app. iPhone users in the US and Japan trade in the browser.
Aster links its apps from asterdex.com/en/download. The Android app "Aster DEX: Access DeFi markets" (com.astermobile.app.android) has 100,000+ downloads and was updated September 24, 2026; there is also a direct APK. The iOS app ("Aster: On-Chain Perps & Spot", Unorex Solutions Corp.) was not in the US or Japanese App Store when we checked. On iPhone, use asterdex.com in Safari, which has a Japanese interface at asterdex.com/ja. Aster lists 604 order-book perps including US stocks, gold and oil, at 0.04% taker / 0% maker. BTC goes up to 200x on the first $400 of notional (the separate 1001x mode is a different product).
Pros
- 0% maker, 0.04% taker
- Most markets of the seven
- Japanese web interface; email login
Cons
- iOS app missing from the US and Japanese App Store
- Email-login deposits: USDT on Arbitrum One only
- Terms exclude US persons; code DTLpLc rebates 5% of fees
Aster app download, login and WalletConnect fixes
| Phone | Official link (from asterdex.com/en/download) | Check before you install |
|---|---|---|
| Android | Google Play | Developer “Aster DEX”, package com.astermobile.app.android, 100K+ downloads |
| Android without Play | asterdex.com/en/download → “APK (Android)” | File from download.asterdex.com only (72.7 MB, September 24, 2026) |
| iPhone | App Store listing linked on the download page | “Aster: On-Chain Perps & Spot”, seller Unorex Solutions Corp., id6748719078; listed in 13 of 30 storefronts we checked, not the US, UK or Japan |
| Any phone browser | asterdex.com | Every product, including the web-only Shield Mode, 1001x, grid bots and vaults |
Aster's download page, Google Play, Apple's lookup API and the APK's HTTP headers, read September 27, 2026.
- Look-alike: a Google Play search for “aster dex” showed “AsterLiquid DEX: Access DeFi” (
com.org.asterliquid) above the official app, with a description copied from it; Aster does not link it. Aster Health, “Aster: 24/7 Personal Safety” and Aster Mail are unrelated apps. - Log in with a wallet: Connect wallet → Connect → choose the network (EVM or Solana) → pick your wallet → approve and sign (free, not a transaction). On the first connection the app asks for an invite code: enter
DTLpLc. - Log in with email: address, the 6-digit code and a password; Aster generates a wallet for you. Email accounts accept USDT on Arbitrum One only.
WalletConnect problems (from Aster's troubleshooting page): “Given link couldn't be opened” means the wallet app is not installed; if the wallet opens with no prompt, force-close both apps and reconnect; if the apps do not switch back, switch by hand to finish each step; and if you changed account or network in the wallet, disconnect and reconnect, because the session is tied to what you approved.
4. Other perp DEX apps we checked
These also show up for "best perp DEX app". We hold no codes for them; store status is from the same October 14, 2026 check.
- ApeX Protocol (APEX DAO LLC): native iOS app in the US and Japanese App Store, updated September 25, 2026, with Japanese among its languages. A credible alternative on iPhone if you already use ApeX Omni.
- dYdX: the iOS app (dYdX Operations Services Ltd) was listed in the Japanese storefront only, last updated November 12, 2025, and did not appear in the US App Store. Trade in the browser at dydx.trade instead; base taker 0.05%. See our dYdX review.
- GMX: no App Store app from GMX (the "GMX" results are an unrelated email app). The web app works in a mobile browser; position fees 0.04%–0.06%, leverage up to 100x.
- Jupiter Mobile (Raccoon Labs): a Solana wallet for swaps, limit orders and a card. Its store description does not mention perps; Jupiter Perps runs at jup.ag in the browser.
- Extended: no App Store listing turned up in a US search; use the web app, and be wary of look-alike apps.
- Dexari (DEXARI INC., US and Japanese App Store): a Hyperliquid front-end at +0.1% per trade at its entry tier, the most expensive in this group.
- Phantom, MetaMask and Trust Wallet: wallets that now route perps to Hyperliquid (Trust Wallet also to Aster). Phantom adds +0.05% (0.095% taker all-in); MetaMask's entry-level taker is 0.1432%. Handy if you already hold funds there, costly for active trading.
5. Native app, mobile web or third-party app?
There are three ways to trade perps on a phone, and they differ mainly in cost and convenience:
- The exchange's own app (Hyperliquid Android, Lighter Mobile, edgeX Mobile, Aster Android): same fees as desktop, same account, same referral discount.
- The exchange's web app in a mobile browser (app.hyperliquid.xyz, app.lighter.xyz, asterdex.com): the full interface, no install, nothing to update. Add it to the Home Screen and it opens like an app. This is the only official Hyperliquid route on iPhone.
- A third-party front-end (Based, Liquid, fomo, Dexari, Phantom, MetaMask): a native app that routes your orders to Hyperliquid (Liquid also lists stock, FX and commodity perps with their own fee schedules). You get push notifications, card deposits and a simpler screen, and you pay a builder fee on top of Hyperliquid's fee, capped by Hyperliquid at 0.1% on perps. The builder code does not cancel a Hyperliquid referral code: 4% still comes off Hyperliquid's part of the fee on those orders (mainnet fills checked October 1, 2026), so join with code HOLYGRAIL before you connect an app with the same wallet (fomo, which creates its own account, is the exception; builder codes explained).

6. What a trade costs in each app
A $10,000 position opened and closed with market orders at the base tier:
| Where you trade | Taker rate per side | Round trip on $10,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Lighter app / web (Standard) | 0% | $0.00 |
| Aster app / web (USDT perps) | 0.04% | $8.00 |
| Hyperliquid app / web with HOLYGRAIL | 0.0432% | $8.64 |
| Hyperliquid app / web, no code | 0.045% | $9.00 |
| edgeX Mobile / web (Regular tier) | 0.045% | $9.00 |
| Based | 0.045% + 0.025% | $14.00 |
| Liquid with our code | 0.045% + 0.045% | $18.00 |
| Liquid / fomo, no code | 0.045% + 0.05% | $19.00 |
| Phantom wallet perps | 0.045% + 0.05% | $19.00 |
| Dexari (entry tier) | 0.045% + 0.1% | $29.00 |
The gap looks small per trade and adds up quickly: ten such round trips cost $86.40 on Hyperliquid directly (with the code) and $190.00 through a +0.05% app. If you trade actively, use the exchange's own app or web app for most of your volume and keep a third-party app for alerts and quick adjustments. The same comparison across more venues is in lowest-fee DEXs and Hyperliquid fees.
7. DEX app vs CEX futures app
Searches for the "best crypto futures app" mostly return centralized exchanges such as Bybit, OKX and Binance. The trade-off is custody and paperwork versus leverage and convenience:
| DEX apps (this page) | CEX futures apps (Bybit, OKX, Binance) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who holds your funds | You (self-custodial wallet) | The exchange |
| ID verification | None to trade with crypto | Required |
| Base taker fee | Lighter 0%, Aster 0.04%, Hyperliquid 0.045% | Bybit 0.055%, OKX 0.05%, Binance 0.05% |
| Max BTC leverage | Hyperliquid 40x, edgeX 100x, Aster 200x | Bybit 150x |
| Cash deposits | Card or Apple Pay in Liquid, fomo, Based; otherwise send crypto | Bank and card built in |
| Order history | On-chain, public | Private to the exchange |
If you already trade on a CEX, a DEX app costs about the same or less per trade and removes exchange custody risk; you lose built-in fiat rails and customer support. Details: DEX vs CEX fees and Hyperliquid vs Bybit.
8. Logins, keys and who can use them
| App | Login | Japanese UI |
|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid (official) | Email code, wallet, or QR link to a desktop wallet | No (EN, ES, FR, KO, ZH) |
| Lighter Mobile | Email or 580+ wallets | App: English only · web: yes |
| Based | Email or Google, or a wallet | No |
| Liquid | Passkey + biometrics | iOS app lists Japanese |
| fomo | Apple ID or Google; Face ID for withdrawals | iOS app lists Japanese |
| edgeX Mobile | Wallet or email | iOS app: English only |
| Aster | Email, WalletConnect, Binance Wallet, Safe, Solana wallets | Web: yes (asterdex.com/ja) |
- No wallet app needed: every app above has an email, Google, Apple ID or passkey route. All create a self-custodial wallet; export or back up its key before you deposit.
- No KYC to trade: none of these apps asks for ID to trade with crypto. Card and bank deposits through third-party providers may run a one-time check.
- Who may use them: an App Store listing in your country does not mean the venue serves you. Hyperliquid's terms exclude residents of the US and Ontario, Lighter's and Aster's exclude US persons among others, and fomo's perps ask for a non-US attestation. Read the terms of the venue you trade on.
- Fake apps: install only from links on the official site and check the developer name. Search results for "Hyperliquid" on the App Store are all third-party apps.
- Stops before you close the app: a phone loses signal; a TP/SL on the exchange does not. Set one on every leveraged position (risk management).
- Builder-fee approvals: Hyperliquid front-ends ask you to approve a maximum builder fee once. You can review and revoke approvals at app.hyperliquid.xyz/builderCodes.
9. Which app for your trading style
Active trader, cost first (Android): the official Hyperliquid app with HOLYGRAIL, plus Lighter Mobile for 0% BTC and ETH trades.
Active trader, cost first (iPhone): app.hyperliquid.xyz in Safari (Home Screen shortcut) and Lighter Mobile.
Want a native iPhone app on Hyperliquid: Based for the lowest add-on fee (code HOLYGRAIL).
Beginner who wants stocks and FX too: Liquid, with Apple Pay deposits (code JV2EN2CX, 10% off its fee; not in the Japanese App Store).
Mostly spot tokens, occasional perps: fomo (code DailyWiseKite).
Higher leverage: edgeX Mobile (BTC up to 100x, code HOLYGRAIL) or Aster on Android and web (code DTLpLc). Higher leverage means a closer liquidation price, not better odds.
Japanese screens: Aster's web app (asterdex.com/ja) or Lighter's web app language setting; on iPhone, fomo and Liquid list Japanese in their iOS apps.
To compare the venues rather than the apps, see Hyperliquid vs Lighter vs Aster, the best perp DEX ranking and the best DEXs in 2026. If the whole idea is new, start with what is a DEX.
10. FAQ
What is the best DEX app?
For trading perpetual futures, the best DEX app in September 2026 is Hyperliquid's own app: the official Android app from Hyperliquid Corp, or app.hyperliquid.xyz in Safari on iPhone. It is the largest perp DEX by 30-day volume ($216.95B on DefiLlama), adds no app fee, and code HOLYGRAIL takes 4% off its fee (the discount also applies if you later trade through apps you connect with the same wallet, such as Based and Liquid; not fomo, which creates its own account). Runner-up: Lighter Mobile, a native iOS and Android app with 0% fees on the Standard account. If you want a native iPhone app on Hyperliquid, Based adds the smallest fee (+0.025%). If you meant a price tracker or a swap wallet, see the "Which DEX app do you mean?" box at the top.
Which DEX is best for perps?
Measured by volume and liquidity, Hyperliquid: $216.95B of perp volume in the last 30 days on DefiLlama (checked September 27, 2026), ahead of Aster ($68.13B), Lighter ($53.91B) and edgeX ($39.9B). Lighter has the lowest fees (0% on Standard) and Aster the highest leverage. This page ranks the apps; our live perp DEX ranking compares the venues themselves by volume, open interest and fees.
What are the top 3 crypto trading apps for perps?
Among decentralized apps: (1) Hyperliquid, official Android app or web app, 0.045% taker; (2) Lighter Mobile, 0% on Standard; (3) Based, a native iPhone and Android app on Hyperliquid for 0.07% taker all-in. Among centralized futures apps, Bybit, OKX and Binance are the usual names; they need ID verification and hold your funds.
Is DEX Screener a DEX?
No. DEX Screener (and DEXTools) is a price and chart tracker: it shows pairs, volume and liquidity from hundreds of decentralized exchanges, but you cannot hold funds or trade perps in it. To trade, you need an exchange app or a wallet. The App Store lists DEX Screener, Inc. as the developer.
Is there a Hyperliquid app for iPhone?
Not from Hyperliquid itself: App Store searches in the US and Japan on September 27, 2026 showed only third-party apps. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz in Safari and add it to the Home Screen, or use a third-party app built on Hyperliquid such as Based, Liquid or fomo. Third-party apps add a builder fee, but a Hyperliquid referral code still takes 4% off Hyperliquid's part of the fee on orders placed through apps you connect with the same wallet, such as Based and Liquid. Enter it on app.hyperliquid.xyz before your first trade: a code cannot be added after $10,000 of volume. fomo is different: it has no wallet connection (Apple, Google or email only) and creates its own wallet and Hyperliquid account for you, so HOLYGRAIL cannot apply there; use fomo's own referral code instead.
Are DEX apps free?
The downloads are free and none of the seven charges a subscription. You pay trading fees: on the exchanges' own apps they match desktop (Hyperliquid 0.045% taker, Lighter Standard 0%, Aster 0.04%, edgeX 0.045%). Third-party apps add a builder fee on top: Based +0.025%, Liquid and fomo +0.05%. On a $10,000 round trip that is $9.00 on Hyperliquid directly versus $19.00 through a +0.05% app.
Do perp DEX apps require KYC?
Not to trade with crypto: none of the seven apps asks for ID to create an account, deposit crypto or trade. Card, Apple Pay and bank deposits go through third-party payment providers, which can run a one-time identity check. No KYC does not mean open to everyone: the venues' terms still exclude some countries (Hyperliquid, Lighter and Aster exclude US persons, for example).
Do I need a CEX to trade perps on mobile?
Not to trade. The apps on this page are self-custodial: you deposit USDC (or other crypto) into your own wallet and trade without an exchange account in your name. You may still use a centralized exchange or a card provider to turn cash into crypto: Liquid, fomo and Based accept card or Apple Pay deposits through third-party providers, which can run a one-time identity check.
Which DEX apps work in Japan?
In the Japanese App Store on September 27, 2026: Lighter Mobile, BasedApp, fomo, edgeX Mobile, Dexari and ApeX were listed; Liquid and Aster were not, and there is no official Hyperliquid iOS app. On Android, Hyperliquid, Lighter, Aster, Based, Liquid, fomo and edgeX all have Google Play listings. Japanese screens: the Lighter and Aster web apps and the fomo and Liquid iOS apps list Japanese; Hyperliquid does not.
Do I need a crypto wallet to trade on my phone?
Not necessarily. Hyperliquid and Lighter accept email login, Aster has email login (deposits: USDT on Arbitrum One only), Based uses email or Google, fomo uses an Apple ID or Google account, and Liquid uses passkeys. All of them create a self-custodial wallet you control and can usually export. Back up the key or export option before depositing.
Can I use a referral code in a mobile app?
Yes, and on Hyperliquid apps two codes can work together. Hyperliquid's HOLYGRAIL (4% off your first $25M) is tied to your account, not to the app: it applies on app.hyperliquid.xyz, in the official Android app and on orders you place through apps you connect with the same wallet, such as Based and Liquid, where it comes off Hyperliquid's part of the fee (not the app's builder fee). fomo is different: it has no wallet connection and creates its own wallet and Hyperliquid account, so HOLYGRAIL cannot apply there and only fomo's own code counts. A code cannot be added after $10,000 of volume, and apps such as Phantom often set their own Hyperliquid referral code on accounts that have none, so enter a code on Hyperliquid before you start using an app. The apps' own programs apply to their builder fee: Liquid gives referees 10% off its fee, fomo 10% off, Based documents no referee discount. Lighter's code 718610TD: first week of Premium fees rebated. Enter each code when you create the account.
What should I check before opening a perp trade on my phone?
Five things: the developer name on the store page (Hyperliquid Corp, Elliot Technologies for Lighter, EDGEX DAO for edgeX); the total fee shown on the ticket, including any builder fee; the leverage and the liquidation price shown before you confirm; a take-profit and stop-loss attached to the order; and whether the venue's terms allow residents of your country (Hyperliquid, Lighter and Aster exclude US persons, for example).
Is it safe to trade perps on a phone?
The main risks are fake apps and lost keys, not the phone itself. Install only from the store links on the official site, check the developer name, never type a seed phrase into an app you found through an ad, and set a TP/SL on every position before you leave the screen, because a phone can lose signal while an order on the exchange cannot.
Start on the exchange's own app
