Is fomo legit? Yes. fomo (fomo.family) is a real social crypto trading app for iPhone, Android and the web, run by FOMO Labs Inc., a US company that raised a $75M Series B led by Index Ventures in June 2026. Your wallet is non-custodial, the referral link and sign-up page work as fomo documents, and when we measured 157,793 fomo perps fills on Hyperliquid, 92.2% paid exactly the published fee and none paid more. What is not safe is much of what you can buy on it: memecoins, some of which cannot be sold. And it is not cheap: 0.50% per spot trade, or 0.45% if you sign up with a referral code.
Verdict. fomo has the simplest sign-up flow we have reviewed for buying a Solana or Base memecoin with a card and an Apple login (we checked the sign-up flow, not a funded purchase): one USDC balance, seven chains, no seed phrase, a live social feed. It is a real, venture-backed company with exportable, non-custodial wallets and 4.8 stars from 24,578 US App Store ratings (October 14, 2026). Our six-day fill check found the perps fee exactly as published, and only 35% of fomo perps traders who closed positions were up after fees. It is not cheap: 0.50% per spot trade (0.45% if you sign up with a referral code such as DailyWiseKite), up to 2% on small Solana orders, and 0.05% plus Hyperliquid's fee on perps (≈0.095% per side). Perps are closed to US persons. If you only want Hyperliquid perps, app.hyperliquid.xyz with code HOLYGRAIL costs less than half as much (join Hyperliquid with HOLYGRAIL).
Pros
- Sign up in a minute with Apple or Google; no seed phrase, no KYC to trade
- One USDC balance across Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain and Arc
- Debit card deposits and Apple Pay token buys; fomo pays Solana gas
- Non-custodial (Privy); both keys exportable
- Live feed, PnL leaderboard, trader alerts and thesis posts
- Perps on crypto, stocks, indices and gold, with take-profit and stop-loss
- Token labels (verified / unverified / warned)
Cons
- 0.50% per trade; 2% on Solana orders from 5 to 47.50 USDC
- Perps cost about twice what Hyperliquid charges directly; market orders only; most measured perps traders lost money after fees
- No copy trading, and no price alerts on spot holdings
- Selling illiquid or honeypot tokens can fail, and trades cannot be reversed
- Bank withdrawals for US accounts only; perps not for US persons
- Support is by in-app contact and email; Trustpilot reviewers complain of generic replies
- Not a regulated broker; no deposit insurance
We earn a commission when you sign up through our links on this page (fomo pays referrers 25% of referred users' trading fees); it never raises your fees.
1. What is the fomo app?
fomo (styled lowercase, website fomo.family) is a consumer crypto trading app built by FOMO Labs Inc. Its help center describes it plainly: you sign up with an Apple ID or Google account, the app creates two wallets for you, one Solana and one EVM, and you can trade in under a minute with no seed phrase and no verification at signup. The iOS app first appeared on the App Store on April 18, 2025. A web version at fomo.family followed, and the same account works on phone and desktop. (Searching "fomo app" also turns up unrelated focus, events and social-map apps with the same name. This review is about the crypto app.)
Three things set it apart from a normal wallet or DEX front-end:
- One balance across seven chains. Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain and Arc share a single USDC cash balance (fomo help center, re-read October 14, 2026; on Arc you can withdraw USDC but not deposit it). You tap buy on a Base token and a Solana token and fomo handles routing — no bridging or network switching.
- Social layer. Every trade appears in a real-time feed with the trader's PnL. You can follow traders, get notified when they buy, post a 700-character "thesis" attached to your position, and climb a public leaderboard. There is no copy trading — fomo says so explicitly (more in section 6).
- Perps since June 11, 2026. "Perpetuals, now on fomo" launched crypto, equity, index, commodity and pre-IPO perps (SpaceX, NVDA, S&P 500, Nikkei 225, gold, oil…) powered by Hyperliquid and trade.xyz.
How big is it? In its June 22, 2026 Series B post fomo said more than 625,000 people had joined, completing over $4B in trading volume, and that more than 68,000 users had bought crypto for the first time through its Apple Pay flow. Its homepage now says "join 2,500,000 traders", a marketing figure we could not check. On October 14, 2026 the iOS app showed 4.8 stars from 24,578 ratings in the US App Store, and the Android app 4.6 stars from 7,741 reviews with 500K+ downloads on Google Play.

2. Is fomo legit? Our checklist
Short answer: the company and the app are legitimate. The tokens you can buy on it often are not. Here is what we could verify from fomo's own announcements, terms and help center, and from the app stores:
| Question | Answer | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Real, identifiable company? | Yes | FOMO Labs Inc., US company; terms governed by New York law. fomo's February 2025 pre-seed post says the founding team last worked together at dYdX. |
| Backed by known investors? | Yes | $17M Series A led by Benchmark (Nov 2025); $75M Series B led by Index Ventures with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark (Jun 2026). |
| Who holds your money? | You (non-custodial) | Privy-generated wallets, keys split into shares, exportable to Phantom / MetaMask. |
| Regulated broker or exchange? | No | No broker licence, no deposit insurance (FDIC/SIPC); not registered with Japan's FSA. On-chain trades cannot be reversed. |
| Can you withdraw? | Yes | USDC to any wallet or exchange on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum or Arc (USDG on Robinhood Chain); US bank accounts via Spritz after an ID check. |
| Card / Apple Pay funding? | Yes, country-dependent | Debit card deposits through a payment provider with its own country list; Apple Pay buys a chosen token directly. USDC deposits work everywhere fomo does. |
| Are fees as published? | Yes, on perps (we checked) | 92.2% of 157,793 fomo perps fills we measured paid exactly the published 0.05%; nobody paid more. |
| Copy trading? | No | fomo says it has no copy trading. You follow traders and get alerts, then decide yourself. |
| Stop-loss on perps? | Yes | Take-profit and stop-loss triggers on mark price, filled as market orders with a 10% slippage tolerance. |
| Scam tokens listed? | Yes, with labels | Anyone can launch a token; fomo marks tokens verified, unverified or warned. Honeypots can still trap funds. |
| Clone sites? | Yes, beware | fomoo.family (extra "o") copies the site and drains wallets that "connect". The real domain is fomo.family. |
Funding in detail. fomo announced a $17M Series A led by Benchmark on November 6, 2025, bringing total funding to $19M. Coinbase Ventures and Archetype are among the listed participants, along with angels including MoonPay's and Zora's CEOs. On June 22, 2026 came a $75M Series B led by Index Ventures with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark. A scam does not raise from these funds and publish its investors. That still says nothing about whether a given token is safe to buy.
What "legit" does not mean here. fomo is not a regulated broker or exchange. There is no FDIC or SIPC insurance and no chargeback on an on-chain trade. Its terms route disputes to binding arbitration in New York. The app gives you a self-custodial wallet and a fast way to trade; the risk of what you trade is yours.
3. Our test: what we checked ourselves (October 14, 2026)
Most "is fomo legit" pages repeat the app-store blurb. We wanted evidence we could check, so we ran two tests that need no account and no money, and we say plainly what we did not test.
Test 1: does the referral link and sign-up work as fomo says?
In a clean browser with no fomo login we opened our fomo referral link. It redirected to fomo.family/?r= plus our code and stored the code in the browser. Both Download app buttons on that page pointed to fomo's app link with the code attached, while the small App Store and Google Play badges in the header pointed to the plain store pages. Start trading opened a "Login or create an account" window with only Continue with Apple and Continue with Google: there is no referral-code field on sign-up (Apple / Google only). That matches fomo's help center, which says a code is applied at sign-up and there is no field to add one later. The practical rule: open the link first, then create the account from that page.

Test 2: what fomo users actually paid on perps, and whether they made money
Every perps order fomo sends to Hyperliquid carries fomo's builder code, and Hyperliquid publishes each builder's fills as daily files. We downloaded fomo's files for six full days (October 7–12, 2026, UTC) and added them up. No account data beyond what Hyperliquid makes public was used.
| What we measured | Result | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Fills by fomo users | 157,793 | Six full UTC days, October 7–12, 2026 |
| Accounts that traded | 5,696 | Median volume per account $900 |
| Total notional | $325.6M | Leveraged position size, opens and closes |
| fomo fee actually charged | $148,283 (0.0455% of notional) | 92.2% of fills paid exactly 0.05%; 20 accounts paid 0.01–0.03% |
| Median fomo fee per account | $0.45 | For the six days |
| Taker fills | 95.9% | Market orders, so the taker rate applies |
Fees: honest. fomo charged exactly the 0.05% its help center states on 92.2% of fills and never more; the other 12,349 fills (7.8% of fills, 11% of notional) were cheaper, almost all at 0.01% or 0.03%, and every one of them came from just 20 accounts, mostly heavy traders. fomo does not document why. Almost every fill was a taker fill, as expected from an app that only offers market orders, so Hyperliquid's own taker fee comes on top.
Profit: most did not make any. Of 4,203 accounts that closed positions in those six days, 1,988 (47%) were up on their closed trades before fees, 1,669 (40%) after fomo's fee, and about 1,477 (35%) after also subtracting an estimate of Hyperliquid's fee (0.0432%, the base taker rate with the referral discount fomo's own code gives). Together these traders closed $90,293 in profit and paid $148,283 to fomo plus roughly $140,662 to Hyperliquid. Six days, perps only, closed trades only (no open positions or funding), so treat it as a snapshot, not a verdict on every user.
What we did not test
We did not deposit money, buy a memecoin or time a withdrawal, so we cannot report our own deposit or withdrawal times. fomo's help center states them: card deposits are "usually ready to trade within a few minutes", USDC deposits arrive "within seconds to a few minutes depending on the network", and US bank withdrawals take 1–3 business days (same day with the paid Faster option). Crypto withdrawals are on-chain transfers to your own address. If we run a funded test later, it will be added here with dates and receipts.
4. What users say: ratings and complaints
| Where | Rating | Volume |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (US) | 4.8 / 5 | 24,578 ratings |
| App Store (Japan) | 4.7 / 5 | 90 ratings |
| Google Play | 4.6 / 5 | 7,741 ratings, 500K+ downloads |
| Trustpilot | 2.0 / 5 | 11 reviews, all 1-star |
Store and Trustpilot figures read on October 14, 2026. The Google Play listing is the same worldwide.
The app stores and Trustpilot tell two different stories. App-store reviewers, who mostly rate the product right after using it, praise the sign-up speed, Apple Pay and the social feed. Trustpilot's reviewers, who usually arrive with a problem, are all negative. Their complaints, and the ones in Reddit threads about fomo, cluster around four things:
- Sells that fail or fill badly. Usually an illiquid memecoin, a token with a warning label that has to be acknowledged first, a position under the 2 USDC minimum sell (5 USDC on Ethereum), or a honeypot contract that blocks selling. fomo's help center says no platform can override a honeypot.
- "Hidden" fees. Mostly the Solana small-order brackets (a 2% fee on a $20 buy), network gas on EVM chains, token taxes set by launchpad creators, and price impact on thin pools. The quote screen shows all of these before you confirm.
- Rug pulls and scam coins. Anyone can launch a token, and fomo lists freshly graduated bonding-curve tokens as "unverified". The label is a warning, not a filter.
- Support. Reviewers report generic replies. Support runs through the app (Profile → Settings → Help and Support → Contact Support) and email.
On Reddit the most common skeptical point is timing: by the time a token trends on fomo, early buyers are often already selling into the new demand, and the traders at the top of the leaderboard were in first. The most common praise is the speed of the alerts and the one-balance, multi-chain design. That matches our view: fomo is a good tool with an honest fee schedule, wrapped around the riskiest asset class in crypto.
5. Can you make money on fomo?
Short answer: some users do, most do not. The one thing we could measure is perps: in our six-day sample (section 3) only 35% of fomo perps traders who closed positions were up after fees, and as a group they paid more in fees ($148,283 to fomo alone) than they closed in profit ($90,293). The leaderboard ranks every account by realized and unrealized PnL, and some traders post large gains, but three structural facts work against the average user:
- Memecoins are close to zero-sum. A memecoin has no cash flows, so every dollar one trader makes on the way up is paid by someone who bought later, minus fees and the token creator's take.
- Fees are steep at small sizes. Buying and selling a $100 Solana position costs 1.90 USDC in fomo fees (1.9%), and a $20 round trip costs 4% — before price impact. A token has to rise that much just for you to break even.
- You are always later than the people you follow. A follow alert fires after their buy has already moved a thin pool. Treat the feed as a way to discover tokens, not as signals to copy.
Third-party analyses of fomo users' spot P&L are passed around online. We could not trace their figures to a primary source, so we do not quote them; our own numbers above come from Hyperliquid's public fill data and cover perps only. There is no mechanism that makes the average fomo trader profitable. The practical rules: trade sizes above 190 USDC on Solana so small-order minimums stop mattering, stick to tokens with real liquidity, use the 0.05% rate on the major tokens that have it, and sign up with a referral code so you pay 0.45%.
6. How to use fomo's social features (it is not copy trading)
The social side is why people choose fomo over a plain wallet. The AI summaries in search results sometimes describe it as "copy strategies", but fomo's help center says plainly that fomo does not have a copy trading feature. Here is what it does have, and how to use it well:
- Feed (third tab): every trade and thesis post on fomo in real time, with token, size and PnL. Switch between All and Friends only. Each token page has its own Feed tab, filterable to theses or friends.
- Leaderboard (fourth tab): ranks all traders by actual realized and unrealized PnL over 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time. Tap a trader to see positions, thesis posts and history. Prefer 30-day and all-time ranks over 24-hour spikes.
- Top holders and early buyers: a token page shows who holds it and who got in early, with their timing and latest thoughts. It is a quick way to judge whether a token is concentrated in a few wallets.
- Follow and notifications: following adds a trader to your Friends feed and, with notifications on, alerts you to their buys and sells above a threshold you set. The number of traders you can follow is capped and grows with your own activity.
- Thesis posts: up to 700 characters attached to a position you hold, editable for 15 minutes. By default other traders see theses only on positions of roughly 1,000 USDC and up.
- Send: you can send USDC or verified Solana tokens to another user by username. It is an on-chain transfer to their wallet, not a copy trade, and it cannot be reversed. Scammers use this: never "send to follow" anyone.
If you actually want automated copy trading, that exists on Hyperliquid through vaults and third-party tools. See our Hyperliquid copy trading guide and the broader DEX copy trading guide.
7. fomo fees: spot trading
This is where most reviews go vague ("under 1% to a few percent"). fomo's own help article, "Trading fees on fomo", lists the exact schedule; we re-read it on October 14, 2026, when it had just been changed. The rate depends on the chain and, on Solana, on order size and on which trading route is available for that trade:
| Where / order size | fomo fee | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Solana, lowest-fee route, order under 5 USDC | Flat 0.10 USDC | $3 buy → 0.10 USDC (3.3%) |
| Solana, lowest-fee route, 5 – 47.50 USDC | 2% of order value | $20 buy → 0.40 USDC |
| Solana, lowest-fee route, 47.50 – 190 USDC | Flat 0.95 USDC | $100 buy → 0.95 USDC (0.95%) |
| Solana, lowest-fee route, 190 USDC and above | 0.50% | $500 buy → 2.50 USDC |
| Solana, any other route (fomo picks the route per trade) | 0.50%, minimum 0.95 USDC | $20 buy → 0.95 USDC; $500 buy → 2.50 USDC |
| Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain, Arc | 0.50% + network gas | $500 buy → 2.50 USDC + gas |
| Select major tokens (marked on the token page) | 0.05%, with a minimum fee on smaller trades | $2,000 buy → 1.00 USDC |
| Any of the above, signed up with a referral code (ours: DailyWiseKite) | 10% off: standard 0.50% becomes 0.45% | $500 buy → 2.25 USDC |
What that means in practice:
- Small Solana trades are expensive. On the cheapest route a $20 buy costs 2% and a $100 buy a flat 0.95 USDC; on any other route the minimum is 0.95 USDC, so the same $20 buy costs 4.75%. fomo says the route changes from trade to trade, so the same size can carry a different fee at different moments. Buy and sell a $100 memecoin position and you have paid about $1.90 (1.9%) before any price impact. From 190 USDC the rate is 0.50% on every route.
- On Solana, fomo pays the gas, priority fees and token-account rent. On Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain and Arc you pay network fees on top, shown in the quote; if the network fee is a large share of the trade, the app asks you to confirm first.
- Majors are cheap: select major tokens, marked on their token page, cost 0.05%, with a minimum fee on smaller trades to cover blockchain costs (fomo no longer publishes the threshold).
- Price impact is the hidden cost. On thin memecoin pools, slippage can dwarf the 0.50% fee. The quote screen shows the expected value before you confirm; read it.
- Some launchpad tokens carry their own contract-level tax on buys and sells, set by the token creator, not fomo.

8. fomo perps: fees, markets and limits
fomo's "Perps Trading Fees" article is one sentence long on the key point: "fomo charges 0.05% per trade on perps. Hyperliquid fees also apply." Both are charged on the full leveraged notional, when you open and when you close. At Hyperliquid's base tier (0.045% taker) that is about 0.095% per side. Here is what a $10,000 BTC position costs to open and close at the base tier, using each venue's published fee:
| Route | Taker fee per side | $10,000 round trip |
|---|---|---|
| app.hyperliquid.xyz, no code | 0.045% | $9.00 |
| app.hyperliquid.xyz with code HOLYGRAIL (−4%) | 0.0432% | $8.64 |
| Based (HL + 0.025% builder fee) | 0.070% | $14.00 |
| Liquid (HL + 0.05%; 0.090% with a referral) | 0.095% | $19.00 |
| fomo (HL + 0.05%) | 0.095% | $19.00 |
Other things the help center spells out that competitors skip:
- Market orders only for entry "at launch", so every fill pays the taker rate.
- Take-profit and stop-loss are supported — some AI answers say fomo has no stop-loss, which is wrong. Set them with the order or later (pencil icon → Edit SL/TP). They trigger on the mark price and fill as market orders with a built-in 10% slippage tolerance, so in a fast move the fill can be well past your level. fomo also alerts you as price approaches TP, SL and liquidation.
- Isolated margin only. Each position has its own collateral; a liquidation cannot touch the rest of your perps balance.
- Leverage in whole numbers up to Hyperliquid's caps: BTC 40x, ETH 25x, SOL 20x, most altcoins lower.
- Two balances. Your token cash balance (USDC on Solana) and a separate perps cash balance. Transfers between them are free and instant; minimum 5 USDC in, 2 USDC out, minimum position 15 USDC notional. fomo pays Hyperliquid's 1 USDC account-creation fee for you.
- Funding is paid or received every hour, like on Hyperliquid itself.
- Markets: "everything listed on Hyperliquid and trade.xyz". Hyperliquid alone listed 178 crypto perp markets on October 20, 2026; its 24-hour perp volume was $4.03B (as of October 20, 2026), from its public API. On a typical day it runs $4–8B.
If you already use Hyperliquid directly: orders placed through fomo carry fomo's builder code, but on Hyperliquid the referral discount also applies to orders placed through apps with a builder code. Mainnet fills we checked on October 1, 2026 show referred accounts paying 4% less on Hyperliquid's part of app orders; fomo's 0.05% is charged in full. The discount belongs to a Hyperliquid account, not to you as a person: fomo trades from the EVM wallet it creates for you and sets its own Hyperliquid referral code on it, so a code entered on a wallet you use elsewhere does not carry over, and a code can only be added before an account passes $10,000 of volume. That is why the order matters: join Hyperliquid with HOLYGRAIL first on a wallet you control, then use apps that connect that wallet. If you mainly trade crypto perps, app.hyperliquid.xyz with code HOLYGRAIL is the cheaper route anyway (table above). How builder codes work: builder codes explained.
9. Custody: who holds your money?
fomo is non-custodial. Its terms say your wallet "is generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider", and its security article explains the model: the private key is split into multiple shares so that no single party — fomo included — holds enough to rebuild it; it is reassembled only inside a secure hardware environment for the moment it signs. Your Apple ID or Google account is the login, and on iPhone Face ID is required to open the app, withdraw and export keys.
- You can export both keys (Settings → Account → Export) and open the same wallet in Phantom, Rabby or MetaMask. Do this before you ever delete the account — deletion without exporting locks you out of the funds.
- Your login is your wallet. Signing in with a different Apple or Google account creates a new, empty account. Secure that email with two-factor authentication.
- Nothing can be reversed. fomo cannot recover funds sent to the wrong network or lost to a liquidation.
- Perps collateral sits on Hyperliquid / trade.xyz; fomo's terms say it "does not operate, control, intermediate, custody, or settle Perps trading" and is not your counterparty. That adds protocol risk on top of app risk.
10. Deposits, withdrawals and supported chains
- Deposit (fomo's Deposit screen shows only the methods available to your account): a bank-issued debit card (lands as USDC, "usually ready to trade within a few minutes"; availability depends on the payment provider's country list), Pay with Coinbase, or USDC sent on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad or Ethereum, which arrives "within seconds to a few minutes". On Robinhood Chain the deposit asset is USDG, converted into Solana USDC. Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, prepaid cards and Apple Cash are not accepted.
- Apple Pay: the Apple Pay option on the Deposit screen buys a chosen token directly; to top up your cash balance with Apple Pay, open the Debit Card screen and switch it to Apple Pay (fomo help center, re-read October 14, 2026).
- Addresses: one Solana address and one EVM address shared across the EVM networks.
How to withdraw from fomo
- Sell to cash first. Withdrawals come out of your USDC cash balance. The minimum sell is 2 USDC on most networks and 5 USDC on Ethereum, so tiny "dust" balances can get stuck. Perps funds must be moved back to the cash balance (minimum 2 USDC).
- To a wallet or exchange: tap the three dots next to your Cash balance → Withdraw → Crypto wallet, enter the amount, pick the network at the top (Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum or Arc for USDC; Robinhood Chain sends USDG), paste an address on that same network, then Review and confirm. Networks other than Solana have a minimum amount ("Amount too low" shows it). When sending to an exchange, copy its USDC deposit address for a matching network, and pick Arc only if the exchange accepts USDC on Arc.
- To a US bank account: same menu → Bank account. The first time, Spritz (fomo's partner) verifies your ID. Minimum $5. "Faster" withdrawals started between 9 AM and 5 PM ET on a business day arrive the same day, for an extra fee; "Standard" ones take 1–3 business days.
- Outside the US there is no bank payout: withdraw USDC to an exchange that supports the network and cash out there.
Most "I can't withdraw" complaints turn out to be a token that cannot be sold, a balance under the minimum, or a failed bank ID check. The wallet itself is yours, so as a last resort you can export the key and move funds from another wallet app. Comparing exit costs across venues: DEX withdrawal limits and fees.
11. Is fomo safe? Terms, restrictions and red flags
We read the full Terms of Service (dated August 17, 2026). The points that matter:
- Company and law: FOMO Labs Inc.; New York law; disputes go to binding arbitration in New York with a class-action and jury-trial waiver.
- Restricted jurisdictions for the whole service: Crimea, Cuba, Donetsk, the DRC, Iran, Libya, Luhansk, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Venezuela, Yemen and others, plus any jurisdiction "where transacting in cryptocurrencies is prohibited or restricted in any form". fomo's help center says the app is available in most countries not on that list. Japan is not named, but it restricts crypto trading through exchange registration and fomo is not registered with Japan's FSA, so whether this catch-all covers Japan is unclear.
- Perps are not available to U.S. Persons — citizens, residents or anyone located in the US — and using a VPN to get around this breaches the terms. fomo reserves the right to require KYC for perps.
- Robinhood stock tokens are closed to US persons and residents of Canada, the UK and Switzerland.
- Referral payouts are "calculated and paid at our sole discretion" and self-referral is banned.
- Token risk: fomo marks tokens as verified (blue check, reviewed by the team), unverified (every freshly graduated bonding-curve token starts here) or warned (sell-blocking contracts, pulled liquidity). To be considered for verification a token needs at least $1M daily volume, a $5M market cap and 1,000 holders — and a blue check still guarantees nothing.
Our read: the app is legitimate and the custody model is sound; what loses users money is the asset class. Memecoins on a bonding curve and leveraged perps are the two riskiest things you can trade, and a feed that shows other people's winning trades is designed to make you want to trade more. Size accordingly, and only ever log in at fomo.family or through the official apps — fomo will never ask for your keys.
Watch for lookalike domains. Security sites MalwareTips and PCrisk have documented a clone at fomoo.family (one extra "o") that copies fomo's design but replaces the download button with "Connect wallet" and drains any wallet that approves it. On September 24 and again on October 14, 2026 the real fomo.family homepage showed only "Download app" and "Start trading" — no wallet-connect prompt. Bookmark the real domain, do not follow sponsored search results or DMs to "fomo" sites, and close any fomo-branded page that asks you to connect an outside wallet.
12. How to start on fomo with a referral code (5 minutes)
fomo attaches a referral only when the account is created: its help center says a code is applied on the sign-up screen and there is no field to add one afterwards. On the web the sign-up window has no code box at all — just "Continue with Apple" and "Continue with Google" — so the referral comes from the link you arrived through. The order of steps matters.
- Open our fomo referral link first (code
DailyWiseKite). It opens fomo.family with the referral attached. - On a phone: on that page tap the Download app button — its App Store / Google Play link carries the referral (the small store badges at the top of the page do not). Install, open the app and sign up with Apple ID or Google; if the app asks for a referral code, enter
DailyWiseKite. - Want to be sure it sticks? Tap Start trading on that page instead and create the account on the web with Apple or Google, then install the app and log in with the same Apple or Google account — it is the same wallet. Remember which login you used either way: it is your wallet.
- Deposit with a debit card, Apple Pay, Coinbase, or USDC on Solana/Base/BNB/Monad/Ethereum. Match the network exactly.
- Buy from Search, Trending or the Crypto tab. Check the token label and liquidity, then read the quote. On a standard-rate trade (any Base token, or 190 USDC and up on Solana) the fee line should show 0.45%, not 0.50%. If it does not, open Profile → Settings → Help and Support → Contact Support and ask to be attached to the referrer you signed up with — fomo's help center says support can add a referrer that was not recorded (but cannot change one that was).
- For perps (non-US only): tap Transfer cash, move at least 5 USDC to the perps balance, tick the non-US attestation, pick market, direction, leverage and size (15 USDC notional minimum), and set TP/SL.
- Export your keys once and store them offline.
13. fomo referral code: what you really get
Our fomo referral code is DailyWiseKite. Sign up through our link and fomo gives you 10% off its trading fees on every trade — the standard 0.50% becomes 0.45% — applied automatically, with nothing to claim (fomo help center, re-read October 14, 2026). fomo's article describes the discount in terms of the spot rate; it does not state whether it also reduces the 0.05% perps fee.
About the "40% off" and "100% off" codes. Search "fomo referral code" and you will find pages on big platforms (Google Sites scripts, help-desk pages, slide decks, forums) promising 40–100% off with codes like "invest40". fomo documents no such discount. The referee benefit in its help center is the 10% above, and it is the same whichever user's link you use; the affiliate program offers referrers higher commission tiers, not bigger discounts for the people they refer. A code cannot give you more than fomo's own schedule, and no real code needs you to connect a wallet or send funds.
How it is applied: only at sign-up, so open the link before you create the account (see the steps in section 12). If you signed up through a link but no referrer was recorded, fomo support can attach it on request (Profile → Settings → Help and Support → Contact Support). A referrer that is already recorded cannot be removed or changed to a different one (help center, re-read October 14, 2026), so pick the link you want before you sign up.
What we get: fomo pays the referrer 25% of the referred user's trading fees on Solana and the EVM networks, paid into the referrer's cash balance automatically (on Solana inside the referred user's own trade, on EVM chains when the referrer opens the app, at most every 12 hours). That is our commission, and it comes with a lower fee for you, not a higher one. Every fomo user has a link of their own (Profile → gift icon), and fomo runs an affiliate program for creators with no follower minimum; its terms say referral payouts are calculated and paid at fomo's sole discretion.

| app.hyperliquid.xyz (+ HOLYGRAIL) | All Hyperliquid perps and spot | 0.0432% perps taker; 0.070% spot taker before the 4% | Cheapest route; official Android app; limit, TWAP, scale orders | No iOS app; no memecoins on Solana/Base |
| Based | Hyperliquid perps + spot | 0.070% perps taker; +0.1% on spot sells | Native iOS/Android app on Hyperliquid | Hyperliquid only |
| Liquid | Hyperliquid perps, builder-deployed stock/FX/commodity perps, prediction markets | 0.095% on HL perps; stock and FX perps: the market's fee + 0.05% | Stocks, FX, pre-IPO and prediction markets in one app | Not in Apple's Japan storefront; no memecoin spot |
Decision rule: memecoins with a card and a social feed → fomo. Perps only, lowest cost → app.hyperliquid.xyz with HOLYGRAIL (the official Android app or Safari on iPhone). A native Hyperliquid phone app with stocks and a card → Based. Stocks, FX and prediction markets in one mobile app → Liquid. Full fee breakdown: Hyperliquid fees explained. New to all this? What is the fomo app?
fomo is a social crypto trading app (fomo.family) from FOMO Labs Inc. You sign up with an Apple ID or Google account, the app creates a non-custodial Solana wallet and an EVM wallet for you, and one USDC cash balance lets you buy tokens on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum, Robinhood Chain and Arc without bridging. Since June 11, 2026 it also offers perpetual futures powered by Hyperliquid and trade.xyz (not for US persons). Around the trading sits a social layer: a live feed of everyone's trades with PnL, a leaderboard, follows and trade alerts. It runs on iOS, Android and the web. It is not the "fear of missing out" psychology term, and not one of the other, unrelated apps called FOMO.
How do I download fomo on iPhone, Android or PC?
fomo is listed as "fomo - never miss out" by FOMO Labs Inc. on the Apple App Store and on Google Play (package family.fomo.app). There is no separate Windows or Mac app: on a computer you open fomo web at fomo.family in the browser and log in with the same Apple or Google account, which gives you the same wallet. Card deposits and Apple Pay are in the mobile app; on the web you fund with crypto. Avoid APK files from third-party sites and lookalike domains such as fomoo.family. To keep the referral discount, open our link (fomo.family/r/DailyWiseKite) first and install through its "Download app" button.
How legit is the FOMO trading app?
Legit as a company and as an app. fomo is run by FOMO Labs Inc., a US company backed by Benchmark ($17M Series A, November 2025) and Index Ventures ($75M Series B with Union Square Ventures, June 2026), and its wallets are non-custodial with keys you can export. It has 4.8 stars from 24,578 US App Store ratings and 4.6 from 7,741 Google Play ratings (October 14, 2026). We also checked two things ourselves on October 14, 2026: the referral link and sign-up page behave as fomo's help center describes, and 92.2% of 157,793 fomo perps fills on Hyperliquid paid exactly the published 0.05% fee, with none paying more. The scams are on the token side: anyone can launch a memecoin, some cannot be sold (honeypots), and fomo only labels them. Trustpilot's handful of reviews (11, score 2.0) complain about exactly that. Also beware the clone site fomoo.family.
Is FOMO a real trading app or fake?
Real. The crypto app "fomo - never miss out" by FOMO Labs Inc. is listed on the Apple App Store and Google Play (500K+ downloads on October 14, 2026), and your trades settle on public blockchains: spot on Solana and the EVM chains, perps on Hyperliquid, where we could count 157,793 fomo fills in six days. What is fake are lookalikes: the clone site fomoo.family, "fomo promo codes" promising 40–100% off, and anyone asking you to connect a wallet or send funds to "fomo". The only official domain is fomo.family.
Is the fomo app free?
The app is free to download; you pay per trade. Most tokens cost 0.50% (0.45% if you signed up with a referral code). On Solana the fee depends on the route fomo finds for each trade: on the cheapest route small orders pay a flat 0.10 USDC under 5 USDC, 2% from 5 to 47.50 USDC and a flat 0.95 USDC up to 190 USDC; on other routes it is 0.50% with a 0.95 USDC minimum. Select major tokens cost 0.05% with a minimum on small trades, and EVM chains add network gas. Perps cost 0.05% per trade plus Hyperliquid's fee. Card deposits go through a payment provider, and fast US bank withdrawals carry an extra fee.
How do I withdraw money from fomo?
Tap the three dots next to your Cash balance → Withdraw. Choose Crypto wallet to send USDC on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum or Arc (USDG on Robinhood Chain) to any wallet or exchange; the network you pick must match the receiving address, and networks other than Solana have a minimum amount. Choose Bank account to cash out to a US bank account through Spritz: a one-time ID check, $5 minimum, Standard (1–3 business days) or Faster (same day if started 9 AM–5 PM ET on a business day, extra fee). Outside the US you withdraw USDC and sell it on an exchange. Tokens must be sold to cash first; the minimum sell is 2 USDC (5 USDC on Ethereum).
Can you actually make money on the FOMO app?
Some people do, but fewer than the leaderboard suggests. We measured it on perps: of 4,203 accounts that closed positions through fomo on Hyperliquid from October 7 to 12, 2026, 1,988 (47%) were up on those closes before fees, 1,669 (40%) after fomo's fee, and about 1,477 (35%) after an estimate of Hyperliquid's fee too. As a group they closed $90,293 in profit and paid $148,283 to fomo alone. Memecoin spot is similar: close to zero-sum before fees, roughly 1–4% round trip on Solana orders between $20 and $190, and follow alerts arrive after the trader you follow has bought. Size small and assume most memecoins go to zero.
Does FOMO really pay?
Yes, in both senses people mean. Your money: the wallet is yours (non-custodial), and you can withdraw USDC to any wallet or exchange at any time, or to a US bank account through Spritz; fomo states card deposits are usually ready within a few minutes and bank withdrawals take 1–3 business days (same day with the paid Faster option). Referrals: fomo pays a referrer 25% of the trading fees of everyone who signs up with their link, deposited into the cash balance automatically, on Solana inside the referred user's own trade and on EVM chains when the referrer opens the app (at most every 12 hours); its terms say payouts are at fomo's sole discretion. What does not pay is trading itself for most users: see the answer above.
Does fomo have copy trading or a stop-loss?
No copy trading: fomo's help center says so directly. You can follow traders, see their positions and thesis posts, and get notified when they trade, but you place every order yourself. Stop-loss: yes on perps. You can set take-profit and stop-loss when you open a position or later (pencil icon → Edit SL/TP). They trigger on the mark price and fill as market orders with a 10% slippage tolerance. There are no price alerts or stop orders for spot memecoins.
Can US users use fomo?
Partly. Spot trading and US bank withdrawals (through Spritz, with identity verification) are available to US users. Perpetual futures are not: fomo's terms and help center say perps are not available to US Persons — citizens, residents or anyone located in the US — and you must attest to that during perps onboarding. Robinhood stock tokens are also closed to US persons and to residents of Canada, the UK and Switzerland.
Is fomo custodial? Can I export my wallet?
No, it is non-custodial. fomo says it never holds your funds and cannot move them. Your private keys are split into shares so that no single party, including fomo, can rebuild them, and they are only reassembled in a secure hardware environment to sign. You can view and export the Solana key and the EVM key under Settings → Account → Export and import them into any wallet. Face ID (on iPhone) is required to open the app, withdraw and export keys.
Is fomo cheaper than Hyperliquid for perps?
No. fomo adds 0.05% per trade on top of Hyperliquid's own fee, so a $10,000 round trip costs about $19.00 on fomo versus $9.00 on app.hyperliquid.xyz, or $8.64 with the HOLYGRAIL referral code. fomo also only takes market orders for entry, so you always pay the taker rate.
What is the fomo referral code?
Our fomo referral code is DailyWiseKite, and the link is fomo.family/r/DailyWiseKite. Signing up through it gives you fomo's referee discount: 10% off trading fees, so the standard 0.50% becomes 0.45% on every trade, applied automatically with nothing to claim (fomo help center, re-read October 14, 2026). fomo pays us 25% of the trading fees of users who join with our code; your fee is lower with the code, not higher.
Is there a fomo discount code for 40% or 100% off?
Not that fomo documents. Pages promising 40–100% off with a "fomo promo code" are spam. fomo's help center describes one referee benefit: 10% off trading fees (0.50% → 0.45%), the same through any user's referral link, applied only when the account is created. Affiliates can earn higher commissions, but fomo does not describe a bigger discount for the people they refer. Ignore any code that asks you to connect a wallet or send funds.
How do I get the fomo referral discount?
Open our referral link (fomo.family/r/DailyWiseKite) before you create the account. The code travels with the link: on fomo.family the sign-up window offers only Continue with Apple and Continue with Google, with no code box, and fomo's help center says a referral is applied at sign-up with no field to add one afterwards. On a phone, tap the "Download app" button on the page the link opens (its store link carries the referral; the small App Store and Google Play badges at the top do not). If you want to be sure, tap "Start trading" instead, create the account on the web with Apple or Google, and then log in to the app with the same account. If the referrer was not recorded, contact support in the app (Profile → Settings → Help and Support → Contact Support) and ask to be attached to referrer DailyWiseKite.
Disclosure: we earn a commission when you sign up through our links on this page — DailyWiseKite is our fomo referral code (fomo pays us 25% of referred users' trading fees) and HOLYGRAIL is our Hyperliquid referral code; neither raises your fees. Fees, deposits, withdrawals, referral terms, app-store ratings and the sign-up flow were re-read from help.fomo.family, fomo.family, the App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot on October 14, 2026; the terms and custody model on September 24–25, 2026; the perps fill measurement uses Hyperliquid's public builder fill files for October 7–12, 2026; Hyperliquid, Based and Liquid figures come from their docs and the Hyperliquid API. fomo can change fees at any time — the fee shown in the app before you confirm is the one that applies. Not financial advice.
