Hyperliquid withdrawal fee vs other DEX withdrawal fees and limits, compared for 2026

Short version (updated October 6, 2026). Hyperliquid: 0.2 USDC plus tiny HyperEVM gas per USDC withdrawal to Arbitrum (Circle CCTP; the legacy bridge charged $1), minimum 0.4 USDC, within 5 minutes, no ETH needed; spot ↔ perps transfers free; BTC/ETH/SOL via Unit for the network fee only. Lighter: secure withdrawal to Ethereum (1 USDC minimum, queue then claim) or fast USDC via Arbitrum (4 USDC minimum). Aster: destination gas deducted ("as low as 1 USDT"), ~30 s. edgeX: your own gas to Ethereum, 0.1% (min $1) to other chains. Binance, for reference: 0.6 USDC for USDC on Arbitrum (October 15, 2026).

1. What does Hyperliquid charge for withdrawals?

Hyperliquid's perps and spot run on HyperCore, its own chain, where trading needs no gas. You pay only when money crosses to another chain: a flat 0.2 USDC per USDC withdrawal plus a tiny HyperEVM gas fee in HYPE. That is the price of the Arbitrum (CCTP) route the app's Withdraw dialog used on October 15, 2026. The API docs still describe a $1 fee "at the time of this writing"; it belongs to the legacy Arbitrum bridge, which the app still used on September 27, 2026 and the docs now call deprecated.

Minimum0.4 USDC per withdrawal in the app (twice the fee; 2 USDC on the legacy bridge); the docs set no other minimum
Maximum10,000,000 USDC per withdrawal in the app; no daily or account cap is documented
TimeWithin 5 minutes (the app’s estimate, both routes)
Gas you payNo ETH on Arbitrum: you sign a message; a tiny HyperEVM gas fee in HYPE (HYPE’s dollar value comes off the USDC if you hold none)

Deposit feeHyperliquid charges none; the default Arbitrum route (Circle CCTP) deducts 0.20 USDC; minimum deposit 5 USDC
Other assetsBTC, ETH, SOL, AVAX, ZEC and more through Unit, for the network fee only

The Withdraw dialog in app.hyperliquid.xyz and the usdcRouting API (route, fee, minimum, maximum, time), checked October 15, 2026; Hyperliquid docs (exchange endpoint, USDC, activation fee, margining), checked September 27, 2026 and October 15, 2026.

  • How to withdraw: click Withdraw (bottom right of the Trade page), keep USDC and Arbitrum, enter the amount and destination, sign. Your wallet signs a Hyperliquid message only; the USDC passes through the HyperEVM and Circle's CCTP to Arbitrum. Step by step: how to withdraw from Hyperliquid.
  • Why a minimum of 0.4 USDC: the app disables the Withdraw button below twice the route fee, so every withdrawal delivers at least as much as it costs. Nothing in the docs sets another minimum.
  • Open positions: any transfer out must leave at least the larger of the initial margin requirement or 10% of total position value. If the dialog shows less "available to withdraw" than your balance, that rule is why.
  • Status: the Portfolio page's Deposits & Withdrawals table shows Pending, Completed (with an explorer link) or Failed.
  • Phantom users: Hyperliquid's support FAQ notes that Phantom does not support Arbitrum, so USDC withdrawn to a Phantom address does not show in Phantom. The funds are on Arbitrum; import the wallet's Ethereum key into an Arbitrum-capable wallet such as Rabby to see them.
  • Route note: the app picks the USDC route from Hyperliquid's routing setting (usdcRouting). It chose the legacy Arbitrum bridge ($1, minimum 2 USDC) for withdrawals on September 27, 2026 and Circle's CCTP when next checked on October 4 (CCTP again on October 15, 2026). If it switches back, the Withdraw dialog shows $1 before you sign.

2. The withdrawal fee as a share of your withdrawal

A flat fee hurts small withdrawals and disappears on large ones. The table shows what 0.2 USDC costs at different sizes, next to edgeX's cross-chain fee (0.1%, minimum $1) and Binance's USDC fee on Arbitrum (0.6 USDC) for reference.

Fees from each venue's docs or public fee list (Hyperliquid October 15, 2026, Binance October 15, 2026, the others September 27, 2026). Binance needs at least 3 USDC per USDC withdrawal on Arbitrum.

  • Hyperliquid: —
  • edgeX (to a non-Ethereum chain): —
  • Binance (USDC on Arbitrum): —

Fees come from the same registry as the table. Aster (destination gas, from about 1 USDT) and Lighter (no published fee) are left out because their cost moves with gas.

The rule that follows: batch your withdrawals. Taking out $100 ten times costs ten times as much as taking out $1,000 once. Below about $20 the fee passes 1%, which is more than a round trip of trading fees at the base tier.

3. What is free inside Hyperliquid (and withdrawing HYPE)

  • Spot ↔ perps: moving USDC between your perps and spot balances costs 0 USDC. Hyperliquid's public ledger records these transfers with no fee.
  • Sub-accounts: transfers between your master account and sub-accounts carry no fee either.
  • Send: sending USDC or tokens to another Hyperliquid address is free, except a one-time 1 USDC activation fee when the recipient address has never been used on Hyperliquid. Send stays on Hyperliquid: it is not a withdrawal, and the support FAQ warns against using it to reach an exchange.
  • HyperEVM: the Withdraw dialog can also send USDC to the HyperEVM (Hyperliquid's EVM side). No USDC fee there, but the transfer from HyperCore costs 200,000 gas at the next block's base price, paid in HYPE.
  • HYPE: HYPE is not in the Withdraw menu; it leaves Hyperliquid through the HyperEVM or through an exchange that accepts it directly. Binance's public network list showed HYPE on one network (HyperEVM only) on October 15, 2026, so transfer HYPE from your spot balance to the HyperEVM first ("Transfer to/from EVM" in the Balances table), then send it from there. More in the HYPE token guide.

4. Withdrawing BTC, ETH and SOL from Hyperliquid (Unit)

Native BTC, ETH, SOL and several other assets move in and out of Hyperliquid through Unit, a separate protocol that charges no fee of its own: you pay the destination network's cost. Unit's live fee endpoint at 21:56 UTC on September 26, 2026 returned the figures below (USD at Hyperliquid mid prices at that minute).

NetworkWithdrawal feeIn USDMinimumEstimated time
Bitcoin (BTC)0.00000715 BTC≈ $0.600.0003 BTC≈ 34 min
Ethereum (ETH)0.0000633 ETH≈ $0.170.007 ETH≈ 7 min
Solana (SOL)0.000008 SOL< $0.010.12 SOL≈ 4 min
Zcash (ZEC)0.00015 ZEC≈ $0.250.07 ZEC≈ 4 h 15 min

api.hyperunit.xyz/v2/estimate-fees, September 26, 2026, 21:56 UTC; minimums from Unit's supported-assets page. Live estimates move with congestion; the Withdraw dialog shows the current figure.

Bitcoin and Zcash are the slowest because Unit waits for more confirmations on those chains. Sending the wrong asset to a Unit address is usually unrecoverable, so copy addresses from the app each time. Routes into Hyperliquid are in the deposit guide and bridge guide.

5. DEX withdrawal fees compared

Hyperliquid docs and app, Lighter apidocs and public API, Aster docs (Aster Chain overview) and changelog, edgeX docs, all checked September 27, 2026 (Hyperliquid’s USDC route and fee again on October 15, 2026).

None of the four charges a percentage on the main route, and none charges gas to trade. Trading fees still dominate the bill (Hyperliquid 0.045% taker at the base tier, Lighter 0% on Standard, Aster 0.04%), so choose on route and waiting time rather than on the withdrawal fee alone.

6. Lighter withdrawal fee: secure or fast exit

Lighter is a zk-rollup that settles to Ethereum, so the canonical exit is to Ethereum mainnet. There are two withdrawal routes plus internal transfers:

  • Secure withdrawal (default): 1 USDC minimum (or the asset equivalent). The request joins the rollup's withdrawal queue; the public withdrawalDelay endpoint returned 1,092 seconds (about 18 minutes) at 21:56 UTC on September 26, 2026, after readings of roughly 19–29 minutes on September 25. The withdrawal then shows as claimable. Lighter usually claims it for you; when Ethereum gas is high you claim it yourself and pay that gas.
  • Fast withdrawal: USDC only, 4 USDC minimum, completed via Arbitrum. It must be signed with the account's Ethereum key, not an API key. The docs publish no fee for it; check the amount shown before you confirm.
  • Transfers to another Lighter account: 1 USDC minimum, stay on Lighter.

No withdrawal caps are documented. Lighter documents a guarantee instead: a priority queue on Ethereum forces the operator to process withdrawals, and if it stops, an escape hatch lets users withdraw directly on Ethereum with proofs. Walkthrough: Lighter deposit and withdrawal guide.

7. Aster withdrawal fee: gas only, about 30 seconds

Aster runs its order book on Aster Chain and bridges out to other networks. Per its Aster Chain overview (re-read September 27, 2026):

  • Fee: gas fees cover validator costs and are deducted from the amount; they depend on the destination chain, and the "minimum withdrawal fee may be as low as 1 USDT". BNB Chain is normally the cheapest destination and Ethereum the most expensive. There is no fee table, so read the figure in the dialog.
  • Time: about 30 seconds. Withdrawals are batched and confirmed once 2 of 3 validator nodes verify them; Ethereum can take longer.
  • Destinations: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Solana, with many tokens on BNB Chain.
  • Limits: the changelog notes that same-day profits can be withdrawn only up to a daily limit. And because Aster settles in USDT while accepting several collateral assets, a loss, funding or fee can leave one asset negative; withdrawals are blocked until you press Rebalance in the dialog or deposit the shortfall.

Deposits are free on the Aster side and arrive in 1–5 minutes after 3 of 4 validators confirm. Guide: Aster deposit and withdrawal.

8. edgeX and Hyperliquid apps

  • edgeX: a standard withdrawal to Ethereum costs only the gas you pay yourself; withdrawals to other chains carry a cross-chain fee of 0.1% with a minimum of $1 (edgeX docs). Code HOLYGRAIL: open edgeX.
  • Liquid (a Hyperliquid front-end app) charges a flat $1 per USDC withdrawal, with no percentage fee and no holding period. Other front-ends set their own rules; the real difference between apps is in trading fees (DEX apps compared).

9. DEX vs CEX withdrawal fees (Binance)

A common worry is that leaving a DEX costs more than leaving an exchange. Per withdrawal, the gap is small: Binance's public fee list on October 15, 2026 showed 0.6 USDC for USDC on Arbitrum (minimum 3 USDC), 0.5 USDC on Ethereum and 0 USDC on BNB Chain, against Hyperliquid's 0.2 USDC plus a tiny gas fee. The difference is well under a dollar per withdrawal either way.

What decides the total is trading: Binance's USDⓈ-M taker fee is 0.05% at the regular tier against Hyperliquid's 0.045%, and a single $10,000 market order on Hyperliquid costs $4.50, more than 22 withdrawals. Binance has no Hyperliquid network for USDC, so moving between them goes through Arbitrum (withdraw from Hyperliquid, deposit USDC-Arbitrum at Binance). Full cost comparison: Hyperliquid vs Binance and DEX vs CEX fees.

These differences are small next to trading costs. What matters is fit: for USDC on Arbitrum in minutes with no gas token, Hyperliquid is simplest; for funds settled on Ethereum with rollup guarantees, Lighter's secure route does that at the cost of a wait; if you live on BNB Chain, Aster is fastest.

11. Deposits: the other half of the round trip

  • Hyperliquid: USDC on Arbitrum from a wallet (5 USDC minimum; less is lost), with Circle's CCTP route deducting 0.20 USDC; email accounts also from Base, Ethereum and Polygon; native BTC (0.0003 minimum), ETH (0.007) and SOL (0.12) via Unit.
  • Lighter: universal deposit addresses on many networks, including Bitcoin, Solana, BNB Chain, Base and Arbitrum; $5 minimum for a new account ($10 on Bitcoin). Deposits convert to USDC for perps.
  • Aster: BNB Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum and Solana, no deposit fee on the Aster side.

If you are choosing a venue rather than an exit route, compare everything else in Hyperliquid vs Lighter vs Aster, the best DEXs in 2026 or the DEX fee calculator.

12. Practical rules

  1. Batch withdrawals. Hyperliquid's 0.2 USDC and Aster's gas are per withdrawal; withdraw weekly, not per trade.
  2. Test a new route with a small amount above the minimum (0.4 USDC on Hyperliquid), especially a first Lighter secure withdrawal or a Unit BTC withdrawal.
  3. Close or reduce positions first if a withdrawal is refused: Hyperliquid enforces the 10%-of-notional rule, Aster blocks negative balances.
  4. Use Withdraw, never Send, to reach an exchange, and check that the exchange supports that exact token and network.
  5. Keep the gas token where the claim happens: ETH on Ethereum for a self-claimed Lighter secure withdrawal, HYPE for HyperEVM transfers.
  6. Read the dialog. Where the withdrawal screen shows a live fee or time estimate, that number beats any article, including this one.

13. FAQ

What is the Hyperliquid withdrawal fee?

A flat 0.2 USDC per USDC withdrawal to Arbitrum, deducted from the amount you withdraw, plus a tiny HyperEVM gas fee in HYPE. That is the Circle CCTP route the app has used since late September or early October 2026 (checked October 15, 2026); the $1 in Hyperliquid's API docs belongs to the legacy bridge, which the docs now call deprecated. The fee is not a percentage: 0.2 USDC is 0.20% of $100 and 0.002% of $10,000. You sign once and need no ETH on Arbitrum. Trading itself is gas-free; the other fixed cost is on deposits, where the default Circle CCTP route deducts 0.20 USDC.

Is there a minimum or maximum withdrawal on Hyperliquid?

The app will not withdraw less than 0.4 USDC (twice the 0.2 USDC fee; 2 USDC on the legacy bridge) or more than 10,000,000 USDC in one go; the docs set no other minimum and no daily cap. While positions are open, a withdrawal must leave the larger of the initial margin requirement or 10% of your total position value in the account, so close or reduce positions if a withdrawal is refused. BTC, ETH and SOL withdrawals through Unit have their own minimums (for example 0.0003 BTC).

How long does a Hyperliquid withdrawal take?

The app's Withdraw dialog says USDC should arrive within 5 minutes, on the CCTP route as on the legacy bridge. The Portfolio page lists it as Pending, then Completed with an explorer link. Unit withdrawals take longer on slow chains: about 34 minutes for Bitcoin on September 26, 2026, against about 4 minutes for Solana.

How do I withdraw money from Hyperliquid?

On app.hyperliquid.xyz click Withdraw (bottom right of the Trade page), keep USDC and Arbitrum selected, enter the amount (at least 0.4 USDC) and the destination address, then sign the message in your wallet; no Arbitrum transaction or ETH is needed, only a tiny HyperEVM gas fee in HYPE. Use Withdraw, not Send, whenever the destination is another chain or an exchange. The full walkthrough is in our guide to withdrawing from Hyperliquid.

Are transfers between spot and perps free on Hyperliquid?

Yes. Moving USDC between your perps and spot balances, or to your own sub-accounts, costs 0 USDC, and Hyperliquid's public ledger records no fee on them. Sending USDC or tokens to another Hyperliquid address is also free, except that the first transfer to a brand-new address pays a one-time 1 USDC activation fee.

How does Hyperliquid make money?

Mainly from trading fees (0.045% taker at the base tier), not from withdrawals: the 0.2 USDC withdrawal fee is a small fixed charge per withdrawal. Hyperliquid's fee docs say fees are "entirely directed to the community (HLP, the assistance fund, and deployers)". The assistance fund's share is converted to HYPE automatically on-chain, and that HYPE is burned.

Which crypto exchange has the lowest withdrawal fees?

For USDC it depends on the network more than the exchange. Binance charged 0.6 USDC to withdraw USDC on Arbitrum (minimum 3 USDC) and 0 USDC on BNB Chain in its public fee list on October 15, 2026, so on Arbitrum a centralized exchange cost more per withdrawal than Hyperliquid's 0.2 USDC, and less on BNB Chain; either way the gap is under a dollar. Among perp DEXs, Aster deducts only the destination chain's gas (its docs say as low as about 1 USDT), Lighter publishes no fee, and Hyperliquid is a predictable 0.2 USDC. Trading fees matter far more: one $10,000 market order on Hyperliquid costs $4.50.

How much are DEX withdrawal fees?

On a spot DEX such as Uniswap there is no withdrawal at all: the tokens stay in your wallet and you pay only network gas per swap. Perp DEXs charge to bridge out of their own chain or rollup: Hyperliquid 0.2 USDC, Aster the destination gas (from about 1 USDT), edgeX 0.1% with a $1 minimum outside Ethereum, and Lighter no published fee (only your Ethereum gas if you claim a secure withdrawal yourself).

What is the Lighter withdrawal fee, and why does it say "claimable"?

Lighter publishes no withdrawal fee. A secure withdrawal exits the zk-rollup to Ethereum mainnet. It waits in a queue (the public estimate was 1,092 seconds, about 18 minutes, at 21:56 UTC on September 26, 2026) and then becomes claimable. Lighter usually claims it for you; when Ethereum gas is high you claim it in the app yourself. A fast withdrawal (USDC only, 4 USDC minimum) goes via Arbitrum instead.

Can I withdraw from a DEX straight to an exchange like Binance?

Yes, with Withdraw to a network the exchange supports, never with an internal transfer. On Hyperliquid, Send moves funds between Hyperliquid accounts only; sending USDC that way to an exchange deposit address strands it until the exchange supports Hyperliquid. For USDC, withdraw to Arbitrum and check the exchange lists USDC on Arbitrum. HYPE is different: Binance's network list on October 15, 2026 showed HYPE on one network (HyperEVM only), so move HYPE from HyperCore to the HyperEVM first. Test with a small amount.
