Lighter deposit and withdrawal: moving USDC in and out of Lighter DEX across chains

To deposit on Lighter, connect an Ethereum wallet at app.lighter.xyz, click Deposit, pick the chain and asset you hold, and confirm; the credit arrives typically within a few minutes. The minimum is $5 for a new account ($3 top-ups from most chains, $10 from Bitcoin), and you can send USDC, USDT, ETH, SOL, BTC and other tokens from 12 chains. To withdraw, choose a fast withdrawal (USDC to Arbitrum in 15–20 seconds, 4 USDC minimum) or a secure withdrawal (any asset to Ethereum, 1 USDC minimum, after the protocol’s withdrawal delay of about 27 minutes on September 27, 2026).

Short version. Deposit: EVM wallet → Deposit → chain + asset → confirm. Minimums: $5 new / $3 existing (EVM chains and Solana), $5 from Ethereum mainnet and Tron, $10 from Bitcoin. Only USDC goes into the perps balance; other tokens are converted on the way in. Withdraw: fast = USDC to Arbitrum in 15–20 seconds, 4 USDC min, flat fee on Standard (1 USDC on Sep 27, 2026), free on Premium or with 100+ LIT staked · secure = via Ethereum, 1 USDC min, waits out the withdrawal delay (1,608 s ≈ 27 min on Sep 27, 2026). Trading itself is 0% maker / 0% taker on a Standard account.

1. How long do Lighter deposits and withdrawals take?

Most deposits land within minutes, a fast withdrawal takes seconds, and a secure withdrawal takes as long as the protocol’s withdrawal delay, which Lighter publishes live. These are the times Lighter itself states, in its API docs, its public API and the app, as read on September 27, 2026:

RouteTypical timeStated by
Deposit through the Deposit modal (universal deposit address, any of the 12 chains)typically within a few minutes; the docs’ sample quote estimates about 25 secondsAPI docs
Same route under heavy demandup to 1 hour (app warning; it suggests the L1 deposit via Ethereum instead)App
Legacy USDC route via Circle CCTP (Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, Arc)about 15–20 minutesAPI docs
Deposit from BitcoinBitcoin’s own confirmation time first, then the usual creditChain-dependent
Fast withdrawal (USDC to Arbitrum)15–20 secondsApp
Secure withdrawal (to Ethereum)The protocol’s withdrawal delay: 1,608 s ≈ 27 min on Sep 27, 2026 (1,117–1,427 s on Sep 25), then the claim, which Lighter usually does for youPublic API

The withdrawal delay is read from /api/v1/withdrawalDelay and moves during the day; the app shows the current value as “Estimated processing time” before you confirm.

Older guides still say a secure withdrawal takes “about 2 hours” or that the fee is $3. Neither matches what Lighter showed on the days we checked. The delay was well under an hour, and the fee endpoint returned 1 USDC. The one step that can stretch a secure withdrawal is the claim. Lighter normally claims for you, but when Ethereum gas is very high it may leave the claim to you (see section 8).

2. How Lighter holds your deposit

Lighter is a zk-rollup perpetuals exchange that settles on Ethereum. Its technical documentation says the smart contracts on Ethereum hold deposited assets and the canonical state root, and every batch of trades is published with a validity proof. Two practical things follow from that design:

  • Trading is gas-free. Orders, cancels, funding and liquidations happen inside the rollup; you only pay network costs when money enters or leaves.
  • Your account is keyed to an Ethereum address. You connect an EVM wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, a WalletConnect wallet or a hardware wallet through them), and the first deposit to that address creates your Lighter account. Even if you fund it from Solana, Tron or Bitcoin, the credit goes to the EVM address you are logged in with.

Inside the account there are two balances: perps (USDC collateral for perpetual futures) and spot (the spot markets). According to the API docs, only USDC can be routed into the perps balance; everything else lands in spot or is converted to USDC on the way in. If you are new to how an order-book DEX differs from a swap app, start with what is a DEX.

3. Which chains and assets can you deposit? (September 2026)

Lighter’s Deposit modal uses a universal deposit address system (run with Fun.xyz). It accepts native tokens from 12 chains, bridges them and, where needed, swaps them to USDC or ETH before crediting your account. The table is the official list from the API documentation, updated September 20, 2026 and unchanged on September 27, 2026:

Native or bridged USDC? It matters only on the old route. Circle’s CCTP handles native USDC, so the legacy CCTP deposit accepts native USDC only. The universal addresses in the modal are broader: they accept Polygon’s bridged USDC.e, USDT, DAI and the other listed tokens and convert them for you. If a guide tells you that Lighter “only takes native USDC”, it describes the legacy route.

There are also two older USDC-only routes. One is Circle CCTP from Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche C-Chain and Arc, with a 5 USDC minimum, via an intent address; the public deposit/networks endpoint also lists HyperEVM, and the docs say these deposits take about 15–20 minutes to be credited. The other is a direct deposit to the Ethereum contract (1 USDC minimum), the only route where you choose perps or spot yourself. For most people the modal’s default route is the one to use.

Lighter on Robinhood Chain is a separate Lighter instance with its own API and fees; its app texts send fast withdrawals to a “Robinhood wallet” instead of Arbitrum. This guide covers the main exchange at app.lighter.xyz, where USDG on Robinhood Chain is simply one of the 12 deposit sources.

4. What is the minimum deposit on Lighter?

$5 for a new account from any chain except Bitcoin ($10); $3 for top-ups from EVM chains and Solana; $5 from Ethereum mainnet and Tron in every case. The docs add one practical warning: send slightly more than the minimum, because bridge and swap slippage can leave the credited amount below it.

Withdrawal minimums are set per asset. These are the values returned by Lighter’s public assetDetails endpoint on September 27, 2026:

AssetMinimum withdrawalCounts as perps margin?
USDC1 USDCYes (100%)
ETH0.001 ETHYes (LTV 70%, 2,000 ETH per user)
XAUT (gold)0.001 XAUTYes (LTV 70%, 500 XAUT per user)
LIT1 LITNo
LINK0.1 LINKNo
AAVE0.01 AAVENo
UNI0.2 UNINo
LDO2 LDONo
SKY20 SKYNo
AZTEC100 AZTECNo

Fast withdrawals have their own floor of 4 USDC. Internal transfers (to a sub-account or another Lighter account) have a 1 USDC minimum.

5. Pre-deposit checklist (run it before every top-up)

Most failed first trades on Lighter are funding mistakes, not trading mistakes: the wrong chain, an amount that slips below the minimum, a wallet with no gas, or an address copied from a chat. Run these ten checks before each deposit; every item is based on Lighter’s API documentation or the live app as of September 27, 2026.

#CheckWhy it matters
1Open app.lighter.xyz from a bookmark (or our referral link) and copy deposit addresses only from the live Deposit modal.Your Solana, Tron and Bitcoin deposit addresses are generated for, and permanently linked to, your EVM login. An address from a DM or a “support” page is not yours.
2The chain you pick in the modal is the chain your funds sit on, and the asset is in the supported list.An unlisted token, or a transfer on a different chain from the one selected, is the classic way to lose a deposit.
3The amount clears the minimum with room to spare: $5 for a new account, $3 top-ups (EVM chains and Solana), $5 from Ethereum mainnet and Tron, $10 from Bitcoin. The API docs advise sending “slightly larger amounts than the minimums”, because bridge and swap slippage can credit less than you sent.
4You hold the source chain’s gas token, or the modal offers Deposit (gas covered). An approval or transfer that runs out of gas halfway leaves you with an approval and no deposit.
5You read the spender in every approval prompt. For a direct deposit to the Ethereum contract, the API docs name Lighter’s contract 0x3B4D794a66304F130a4Db8F2551B0070dfCf5ca7.Token deposits usually need a one-time approval and then the transfer. An approval request you did not start from the Lighter modal is a red flag.
6USDC if you want perps margin straight away; convert large ETH, SOL or BTC amounts to USDC yourself first.Only USDC reaches the perps balance at 100% value. Other tokens are swapped on the way in, with slippage.
7First time on a new chain or route: send a small test amount and wait for Completed. The status moves from Processing (source transaction confirmed) to Completed (credited). One test costs a little gas; a mis-send costs the deposit.
8You know the normal wait before you worry: typically within a few minutes, up to 1 hour for a fast deposit under heavy demand, about 15–20 minutes on the legacy CCTP route.Do not send the same amount again because the app is slow. Check the source transaction on its block explorer first.
9You have planned the exit: fast withdrawals pay USDC on Arbitrum, secure withdrawals arrive on Ethereum mainnet. Check that your exchange or wallet accepts USDC on that network.Reversing a path you already know works is calmer than improvising a withdrawal during a drawdown.
10After the credit, open the order ticket and read the fee line: a Standard account shows Taker 0% | Maker 0% on market and limit orders, and the minimum order is $10 of notional. If a fee appears on a plain market or limit order, you are on a Premium or Plus account or trading through a third-party front end. Advanced order types are the exception: Lighter’s referral docs note that Standard accounts pay a fee to access them.

Red flags that mean stop. Anyone asking for your seed phrase to “verify” or “unlock” a deposit; deposit addresses sent by Discord or Telegram DM; a browser extension you did not install asking for an unlimited token allowance; an “urgent” bridge page that is not reached from app.lighter.xyz. Disconnect the wallet and start again from the bookmarked URL.

6. How to deposit on Lighter, step by step

Route A: from a wallet on an EVM chain (Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum…)

  1. Connect. Go to app.lighter.xyz (our referral link opens the same app) and click Connect Wallet in the top-right corner. The “Log in or sign up” window offers email or a wallet; pick the wallet that holds your funds and approve the connection.
  2. Open Deposit. Click Deposit, then choose the source chain and the asset you hold there. USDC is the simplest choice: it is the settlement asset, carries no haircut and needs no swap.
  3. Enter the amount and read the quote: the modal shows what will be credited after bridge and swap costs. Leave some of the chain’s gas token (ETH on Arbitrum or Base, for example) in your wallet. For some deposits the app offers a Deposit (gas covered) option (“No gas in your wallet? We’ll cover the network fee — just sign”), which helps if you hold only USDC.
  4. Confirm in your wallet. Token deposits can need two signatures: a one-time spending approval, then the transfer.
  5. Wait for the credit. The status goes from Processing (source transaction confirmed) to Completed (credited on Lighter), typically within a few minutes. The first deposit automatically creates your account. The app then asks for one approval that registers a trading key in your browser, so individual orders do not need a wallet pop-up.

Step 1: Lighter’s “Log in or sign up” window (captured September 27, 2026). Connect the wallet that holds the funds you want to deposit; the Deposit button appears once you are logged in.

Route B: from Solana, Tron or Bitcoin

For non-EVM chains the modal gives you a deposit address on that chain (a Solana address, a Tron address or a Bitcoin SegWit address) that is permanently linked to your EVM login. You send SOL, USDC or USDT on Solana, USDT on Tron or BTC on Bitcoin to it from any wallet, and the system bridges, converts and credits it. Mind the higher Bitcoin minimum ($10) and Bitcoin’s own confirmation time.

Route C: with a card or from Coinbase

The app’s banner (September 2026) reads “Deposits from Card, Bitcoin, Coinbase, Tron, Solana, USDT and more, are now available.” These options live inside the same Deposit modal, run with Fun.xyz, and the credit still lands on the EVM address you are logged in with. Three things to know before you use them:

  • Availability depends on where you are. The modal shows only the payment methods offered in your region.
  • A card deposit is a purchase. A payment provider buys the crypto for you, with its own checks and fees, which are shown before you pay. It is convenient for a first small deposit; for larger sums, buying USDC on an exchange and sending it on-chain is usually cheaper.
  • We have not tested these routes ourselves, so we do not quote their limits or fees. Read the quote screen.

Route D: from a phone

The deposit flow is the same in a phone browser: open app.lighter.xyz in Safari or Chrome (not the in-app browser of X or Telegram, which often cannot hand off to a wallet app), log in with a mobile wallet and use Deposit. The Lighter Mobile app’s wallet features depend on your region, and your account belongs to your wallet address, not the device. Our Lighter mobile app guide explains the setup order.

Worked example: $500 of USDC from Arbitrum

You hold 500 USDC and a little ETH for gas on Arbitrum. You pick Arbitrum → USDC and enter 500. The quote shows the amount to be credited; the docs’ own sample quote turns 5 USDC into 4.99 USDC with an estimated checkout of about 25 seconds and a fraction of a cent of gas. You approve and confirm, and a few minutes later about 500 USDC sits in your perps balance. From then on a $10,000 BTC market order on a Standard account costs $0 in trading fees; Lighter’s minimum order is $10 of notional.

Lighter’s BTC trade page (captured September 19, 2026): the banner advertises deposits “from Card, Bitcoin, Coinbase, Tron, Solana, USDT and more”, and the ticket shows Taker 0% | Maker 0% on a Standard account.

7. Perps, spot and non-USDC collateral

Where your deposit ends up matters more than which chain it came from:

  • USDC goes to the perps balance at 100% value. This is what backs your positions and what PnL and funding are paid in.
  • ETH, SOL, BTC, USDT and other tokens sent through the universal addresses are converted before they are credited: to USDC if the route targets perps, or to USDC or ETH if it targets spot. A swap on the way in means slippage, so large non-USDC deposits are cheaper to convert yourself first.
  • Multi-Asset Margin lets eligible spot assets back perps positions at a haircut. On September 27, 2026 the API listed ETH and XAUT at a 70% loan-to-value (supply caps of 2,000 ETH and 500 XAUT per user). It requires a Unified Trading Account, which can only be switched on in the web app for now.

A Standard account can have up to 4 sub-accounts. Moving USDC between them is an internal transfer (1 USDC minimum), not a withdrawal, and any transfer fee is shown before you sign (waived with 100+ LIT staked). For leverage limits per market, see Lighter leverage limits explained.

8. Fast vs secure withdrawals: which one to use

Lighter gives you two ways out. Use fast for everyday USDC cash-outs; use secure for other assets, very large amounts, or when fast is unavailable. They differ in speed, assets and trust model:

Secure withdrawalFast withdrawal
What it isExit through Lighter’s Ethereum contract, proven by the next state updateUSDC paid out on Arbitrum without waiting for the Ethereum exit
AssetsAny withdrawable asset (USDC, ETH, LIT, LINK…)USDC only, from the perps balance

Sources: Lighter API docs (deposits-transfers-and-withdrawals, withdraw_history), the public withdrawalDelay and transferFeeInfo endpoints and the app’s withdrawal texts, September 27, 2026.

Why a secure withdrawal waits. It is a real exit from the rollup: the balance leaves when a state update containing your withdrawal is proven on Ethereum. The app describes it as a withdrawal “to Ethereum via the secure native bridge” with an estimated processing time, and it can only go to your connected wallet. Lighter’s API exposes the current delay. It read 1,117 and 1,427 seconds on September 25 and 1,608 seconds on September 27, 2026, so expect it to move. The withdrawal then shows as claimable. The docs say Lighter claims on your behalf most of the time, but when Ethereum gas is too high you may need to press Claim in the app (and pay that gas yourself).

Why fast is fast. A fast withdrawal pays you USDC on Arbitrum without waiting for the Ethereum exit; the app’s description is “Quick transfer to Arbitrum wallet. Funds arrive in 15–20 seconds.” That is why it is limited to USDC from the perps balance and has a higher 4 USDC floor. Three limits come from the app itself. First, a flat fee applies by account type (section 10). Second, the amount is capped by the Arbitrum bridge liquidity available at that moment; when that liquidity is low, the app switches fast withdrawals off and points you to a secure withdrawal. Third, if Lighter flags the destination address as risky, it refuses the fast route and asks for a secure withdrawal instead. For moving a few hundred or thousand dollars of profit to an exchange or an L2 wallet, fast is still usually the practical choice.

The safety net. If Lighter’s sequencer ever stopped processing withdrawals, you could submit one directly to the priority request queue on Ethereum. If it is not processed within the set time, the contract enters Escape Hatch mode and freezes. Every user can then prove their balance from the data posted to Ethereum and withdraw without the operator. That is the main structural difference from a custodial exchange; our Hyperliquid vs Lighter comparison covers what it does and does not protect against.

9. How to withdraw from Lighter, step by step

  1. Free the collateral. Only available balance can leave. Margin backing open positions and resting orders is locked, so close or reduce positions and cancel orders you no longer need. Withdrawing while a position is open lowers your liquidation buffer; re-check the liquidation price afterwards.
  2. Open Withdraw from your account balance and pick the asset.
  3. Choose fast or secure. USDC to Arbitrum: fast (4 USDC or more). Anything else, or a large amount where you prefer the Ethereum exit: secure (1 USDC or the asset’s minimum).
  4. Check the fee, the time and the destination shown in the modal and confirm. By default the funds go to the Ethereum address you are logged in with, on Arbitrum (fast) or Ethereum mainnet (secure).
  5. Track it. Fast withdrawals end as Completed. Secure ones become Claimable after the delay and are normally claimed for you; if one sits unclaimed, claim it in the app. Every withdrawal also appears as a log in the Lighter explorer, which shows when its batch is final on Ethereum.

Sending the USDC on to a centralized exchange? Deposit on the matching network: Arbitrum USDC for a fast withdrawal, Ethereum USDC for a secure one. For how Lighter’s exit compares with other venues, see our DEX withdrawal limits and fees comparison, and for the same steps on Hyperliquid, how to withdraw from Hyperliquid.

10. What is the Lighter withdrawal fee?

A secure withdrawal has no Lighter fee when Lighter claims it for you. A fast withdrawal costs a flat fee that depends on your account type, and it is free on Premium or with 100+ LIT staked. Lighter’s docs list the Standard, Plus and Premium account types but publish no withdrawal-fee table, so this is what the app and the public API showed on September 27, 2026; only verified cells are filled:

AccountTrading fee (maker / taker)Fast withdrawal fee
Standard (default)0% / 0%Flat fee shown in the modal (1 USDC for every account we sampled, Sep 27, 2026)
Plus0.005% / 0.005%Not published; read the modal
Premium0.004% / 0.028% at 0 LITfree (“Premium accounts withdraw for free”)
Any account with ≥ 100 LIT stakedUnchangedfree, plus fee-free in-platform transfers (staking perk in the app)

The app’s fee line reads “A [amount] withdrawal fee applies to your account type. Premium accounts withdraw for free.” The amount comes from Lighter’s transferFeeInfo endpoint toward the fast-withdraw bridge account, which needs a logged-in session to read, so the figure in your own modal is the final word. Third-party guides quote $3 and “10 free withdrawals a day” on Plus; we could not confirm either in Lighter’s docs, API or app texts.

The rest of the cost picture:

ActionWhat you pay
Deposit, EVM chainSource-chain gas plus any bridge or swap cost in the quote
Deposit, Solana / Tron / BitcoinThat chain’s network fee plus bridge or swap cost; Bitcoin minimum $10
Trading, Standard account0% maker / 0% taker on market and limit orders (300 ms latency on taker orders and cancels; maker orders are not delayed); advanced order types carry a fee even on Standard
Trading, Premium account0.028% taker / 0.004% maker at 0 LIT staked, 140 ms taker latency
Fast withdrawalFlat fee by account type (1 USDC on Sep 27, 2026); free on Premium or with 100+ LIT staked. USDC only, 4 USDC minimum
Secure withdrawalUsually claimed for you; Ethereum gas if you claim it yourself
Transfer to a sub-accountInternal, 1 USDC minimum; any transfer fee is shown before you sign

Worth staking LIT just to withdraw for free? Only if you withdraw often. The waiver needs 100 LIT staked, unstaking takes 3 days, and LIT’s price moves, while each fast withdrawal on Standard costs one flat fee (1 USDC on the day we checked). If you trade enough to use Premium, withdrawals are free there anyway. The full trading-fee picture, including LIT staking discounts on Premium, is in our Lighter fees guide.

11. Lighter deposit not showing or withdrawal stuck

My deposit has not arrived

  • Confirm the source transaction on its block explorer (Arbiscan, Basescan, Solscan…). If it is still pending there, Lighter cannot see it yet.
  • Check the amount after slippage: a deposit that ends up below the minimum ($5 new account, $3 top-up, $10 Bitcoin) may not be credited as expected.
  • Make sure you sent a listed asset on the chain you chose in the modal. A token that is not in the table, or a transfer on a different chain from the one selected, is the classic way to lose a deposit.
  • Refresh the app. Deposits normally move from Processing to Completed, typically within a few minutes. Under heavy demand the app warns that a fast deposit may take up to 1 hour and suggests the L1 deposit via Ethereum as the alternative. Legacy CCTP deposits take about 15–20 minutes. If it is still missing after that, open a support ticket in Lighter’s Discord with the transaction hash.

My withdrawal is stuck

  • Secure withdrawal still pending: it cannot complete before the withdrawal delay has passed. After that, look for a Claim button, which appears when Lighter has not claimed on your behalf because Ethereum gas is high.
  • “Secure withdrawal rate limit” message: the app’s withdraw widget offers to withdraw directly on-chain instead, through the contract’s own withdraw function.
  • Fast withdrawal not allowed: it only works for USDC in the perps balance, from 4 USDC, and only up to the Arbitrum bridge liquidity available. If the app says fast withdrawals are unavailable or your amount is above the limit, split it or use a secure withdrawal.
  • Amount rejected: part of your balance backs open positions or resting orders. Cancel orders or reduce positions first.
  • “Funds missing” in your wallet: switch the wallet to the network you withdrew to. Fast withdrawals arrive on Arbitrum, secure withdrawals on Ethereum mainnet. The address is the same on both, so the funds are not lost.

Safety habits

  • Bookmark app.lighter.xyz and never approve deposits from links in DMs; no genuine support agent will ever ask for your seed phrase.
  • Send a small test deposit the first time you use a new chain or route.
  • Use a hardware wallet for large balances. According to the API docs, fast withdrawals and transfers to another Ethereum address must be signed by your Ethereum wallet itself, so protecting that wallet protects your exits.

12. FAQ

How do I deposit to Lighter?

Open app.lighter.xyz, connect an Ethereum (EVM) wallet, click Deposit and choose the source chain and asset. USDC from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and most EVM chains works, and so do USDT, ETH, SOL, BTC on Bitcoin and USDT on Tron through Lighter’s universal deposit addresses (12 chains in total). The first deposit creates your Lighter account, and the credit arrives typically within a few minutes.

How long does a Lighter deposit take?

Through the Deposit modal, typically within a few minutes: the status shows Processing once the source transaction confirms and Completed when the funds are credited. Under heavy demand the app warns that a fast deposit can take up to 1 hour. The legacy USDC route over Circle CCTP takes about 15–20 minutes, and Bitcoin deposits wait for Bitcoin confirmations first.

What is the minimum deposit on Lighter?

For a new account the minimum is $5 from any chain except Bitcoin ($10). Once your account exists, top-ups from EVM chains and Solana can be as small as $3; Ethereum mainnet and Tron stay at $5. Deposits made directly to the Ethereum contract have a 1 USDC minimum, and the legacy CCTP route 5 USDC. Send a little more than the minimum, because bridge and swap slippage can push the credited amount below it.

How long does a Lighter withdrawal take?

A fast withdrawal pays USDC out on Arbitrum; the app says funds arrive in 15–20 seconds. A secure withdrawal goes through the Ethereum contract and waits for the protocol’s withdrawal delay, which Lighter’s public API reported at 1,608 seconds (about 27 minutes) on September 27, 2026 and between 1,117 and 1,427 seconds on September 25. It then becomes claimable and Lighter normally claims it for you; when Ethereum gas is very high you may have to click Claim yourself. Guides that quote “about 2 hours” describe older conditions.

What is the Lighter withdrawal fee?

Lighter publishes no fee table, so the modal is the final word. A fast withdrawal carries a flat fee that depends on your account type: Lighter’s public fee endpoint returned 1 USDC for every account we sampled on September 27, 2026, the app says “Premium accounts withdraw for free”, and its staking page lists fee-free fast withdrawals and in-platform transfers with 100 LIT or more staked. Some third-party guides say $3; we could not confirm that figure in Lighter’s docs or API. A secure withdrawal has no Lighter fee when it is claimed for you, only Ethereum gas if you claim it yourself.

Do I need native USDC, or can I deposit USDC.e, USDT or ETH?

The legacy CCTP route takes native USDC only. The Deposit modal’s universal addresses are broader: they accept Polygon’s bridged USDC.e, USDT, DAI, ETH, SOL, BTC and the other listed tokens and convert them on the way in (to USDC for perps, or to USDC or ETH for spot). Only USDC reaches the perps balance at full value; ETH and XAUT can back positions at a 70% loan-to-value if you enable a Unified Trading Account.

Can I deposit to Lighter with a card or from Coinbase?

The app’s banner (September 2026) says deposits “from Card, Bitcoin, Coinbase, Tron, Solana, USDT and more” are available, all inside the same Deposit modal run with Fun.xyz. Which payment methods you see depends on your region, and a card purchase goes through a payment provider with its own checks and fees, shown before you pay. We have not tested card or Coinbase deposits ourselves; for large sums, buying USDC on an exchange and sending it on-chain is usually cheaper.

What should I check before depositing to Lighter?

Open the app from a bookmark and copy addresses only from the live Deposit modal; pick the chain your funds are actually on and a listed asset; send a little more than the minimum ($5 new account, $3 top-up, $10 from Bitcoin) because slippage can reduce the credit; keep some gas token on the source chain; read the spender in any approval prompt; and send a small test amount the first time you use a new chain.

Why is my Lighter deposit not showing?

Check that the source transaction confirmed on its explorer, that you sent a supported asset on the chain you picked, and that the amount (after slippage) was above the minimum. Universal-address deposits show as Processing once the source transaction confirms and switch to Completed when credited, typically within a few minutes; under heavy demand it can take up to 1 hour. If it is still missing after that, open a ticket in Lighter’s Discord with the transaction hash.

Is Lighter safe to deposit into?

Lighter is a zk-rollup: deposits sit in its Ethereum contracts, every batch is published with a validity proof, and an Escape Hatch lets users withdraw from Ethereum data if the operator stops processing withdrawals. Its security page lists 9 audit reports for the contracts and circuits. That removes custodial risk, not all risk: smart-contract bugs, bridge and swap routes on the way in, and your own wallet security remain. Start with a small deposit and keep large balances in a hardware wallet.

Is Lighter available in Japanese, and can I use it from Japan?

The app has a Japanese interface (language menu, September 2026). Japan is not on the restricted-country list in Lighter’s Terms of Service (last updated December 29, 2025), which excludes the US, Canada, the UK, China, Russia and others.
